familyFINDS!

Way cool kid’s t-shirts from The Trendy Tadpole!  The captioned shirt says “These Aren’t the Parents I Ordered” which is funny but not rude (rude works for adults, but spare me from 6 month olds with “sperm anything” on their t-shirts).  The $16 voucher gives you $32 worth of this cool-looking stuff (and we lubs our stuff).  These are rather pricey (the above shirt is $32), but for a gift or special occasion it would work.  Naturally, I checked the sale tab:  empty!  grrr, but you can hold it until September 3, you know.  Don’t forget that you have to register first with familyFINDS! (free) to get any of their deals.

Deets:   Limit one voucher per person; does not include shipping or tax; shirts run small, order next size; voucher expires September 3, 2011.

Magic Tree Bookstore

My addiction is, frankly, books.  If it weren’t for public libraries I’d be filing bankruptcy every 10 years.  This familyFINDS deal is for $20 voucher for $10 to an Oak Park institution,  The Magic Tree Bookstore.  Vouchers can be used on all merchandise.

Deets:  Limit one per person, multiples as gifts; not valid towards tax; vouchers expire October 21, 2011

Remember, if you haven’t yet registered for familyFINDS, please take a moment to do so.  It’s free and otherwise you’ll be screwed when a high-demand deal comes along and you have to move fast.

$1 for 24-pk of Silly Bandz – Still going on

Update:  Got mine in the mail within a couple of days.

Familyfinds

Live Happily Ever Active is their dealio for today:  $10 for $20 worth of classes, gear, products.  Gear and products are the only viable options here in Chicagoland, ’cause they’re based in Minnesota.  which explains the preponderance of blond/blue-eyed babies… Having said that, site seems to be all cutsie tees and tanks.  Shall we kindly say very limited selection?

So, if this stuff floats your boat at all, save a few bucks on some cute baby/child onesies and shirts.  ’cause like I always say, getting the gear is half the exercise battle…

Petite Feet children’s shoes

This Family Finds deal is in Lakeview on Southport.   I’m not certain how many of you live/work/visit in this area, but the selection looks and sounds incredible.  For $15 you get $30 worth of products from Petite Feet,  A Children’s Specialty Boutique.  Limit one voucher per person, multiples may be purchased as gifts.  Vouchers must be redeemed by August 15, 2011.

I discovered a store closing sale in a children’s boutique when my son was a toddler.  Their misfortune was my good luck as I stocked up on pair after pair of shoes that I could never afford otherwise.

Note here: you know that sickening/annoyed feeling you get when you look down at your charming child kicking in the stroller and realize there is a shoe missing and you will never see the mate again in your lifetime?  The feeling’s just as bad when the shoe was a deal…  so now you know…

Familyfinds

Vistaprint always has a “deal” going on.  They provide quality products and have really good customer service, it’s just that the free stuff (like labels) always entails shipping and handling.  Only fair and it’s not crazy-priced.  but still …  So this FamilyFinds deal for 140 address labels for 3 bucks?  Sweet.  I went through the whole ordering process, just to see if there were additional fees, but nothing (if there are, they’re after credit card info is sent – that much of a researcher I am not).

Yeah, yeah, I can almost hear you say “But we get tons of free address labels in the mail already?”  Well, I suppose you can never have too many of those misspelled, Mr. (instead of Ms or Mrs.) labels with stupid pictures on them …

FireZone

I’m late reading my email – was gonna shoot this deal to Rachel for her youngest, but damn she’s already posted this!  Well, here it is anyway:

Today’s FamilyFinds is a way cool-sounding place in Schaumburg:  FireZone, a place owned and operated by actual firefighters.   For $9 you get: two one-hour drop-off sessions and two hours of firefighting lessons from a real firefighter!

Let the kids go nuts in a 5,000-square-foot space where they can play with real fire hoses, dress in fire gear, slide down a fire pole and explore a real fire truck and ambulance.  There is even a house that fills with “smoke.”

This sounds like so much fun, I’m tempted to borrow a kid (since adults are free) – but only tempted, so don’t start with the offers.  I’m stuck with snow days, too.

Flowers on the Cheap

My inbox is flooded with “deals” on cut flowers and candy – gee, wonder why?  Most places jack up the flower prices starting a couple of weeks before Valentine’s Day and then offer you a deal:  pah!  Today’s FamilyFinds deal is for a new (to me) company, BloomNation, for $60 worth of flowers for $30 (vase is included).  Voucher not only can be applied towards shipping, it does not expire for one full year (February 2, 2012).  Limit one voucher per person but does not say no gifts, so gopherit, whaddayagottolose?

This picture reminds me of that old joke:  What looks better than roses on a piano?

Chocolate

pizza, chocolate, pizza, chocolate…decisions, decisions.  Choices were so much simpler on Little House on the Prairie.

Today’s FamilyFinds deal involves 1/2 price vouchers ($15 instead of $30) for fine chocolate from Sugar-Plum.com.  i know, i know, comparing anything to the joy a Snickers bar brings is almost sacrilegious, but some people insist on the box…

There is no limit on the number of vouchers you can purchase, but only one voucher can be redeemed per order.  Vouchers expire August 1, 2011.

note:  you know you’ve eaten way too many chocolates when you can decipher the squiggles on top.
