Some possible P&G scenarios

I’ve gotten a lot of emails about this P&G promotion at Jewel, mostly dealing with how many can I buy, what is good about the Lisle Jewel, best ways to combine orders, etc., so here’s my take on this.  I apologize for the length, but I’m trying to be as helpful as possible.  If you still have questions, please don’t think you can’t email any more – I realize that not everyone is used to these combinations and quantities and it’s hard to get your heads around the concept of buy one and pay or buy three and they’re FREE!!

First of all, you don’t need to pick a particular person/cashier/front end person – they’re all great at the Lisle Jewel.  That’s why so many people drive 30+ miles to shop here (yes, people do!).

If you’re running this promotion, you can stack at least 21 orders of three items – I stopped at that point, but no reason not to keep on until you don’t see the $5 appear on the screen after three products.  At that point, take off the last three and you’re good to go!  So at least 3 items times 21 transactions equals 63 products in whatever combination you wish.

Again, everyone has their own particular likes and dislikes – one person hates Mr. Clean or Febreze, but loves Puffs and Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and Cascade.  I can only offer suggestions.

If you don’t find the item on the shelf, ask at the front desk, because they have placed a number of single items to be used for scanning purposes only – you will not be taking these home.  Considering one of them is my three boxes of Magic Erasers, if you abscond with my products, I will hunt you down and beat you to death with your own arm – you’ve been warned!

Do NOT place special orders for little bits of this and that:  4 Febreze, 3 Mr. Clean, 7 Puffs Lotion…See the Store Director doesn’t have time to fill your cart for you; if you’re placing a special order, make it for enough in total that they can just fill the cart with, say, 63 Puffs and 63 Mr. Clean,  What I’m getting at is you should not be specific about Mr. Clean scents in small quantities – if you’re ordering 63, you can call more of the shots!  And if you’re running more than one transaction of 63, make sure you not only have your own register receipt, you have them run a duplicate that they can attach to your special order, to prove it’s been paid for.  And THEN, total up the quantities for ease of filling the orders when they start arriving (you ran 5 transactions and the total was:  63 Mr. Clean; 63 Febreze, 21 Magic Erasers; 99 Puffs; 6 Cascade).

IF you are interested in getting Cascade (which they have on the shelf at Lisle), make sure you are using the overage from Febreze to bring down the cost.  There is a 50¢ coupon in the 9/1 on Cascade, which reduces the $4.99, but say you buy two Air Mist Febreze with the BOGO coupon in 9/1.  You’ll pay $2.08 for all three items ($2.59 x 2 – $2.59 BOGO coupon + $4.99 Cascade – .50 coupon – $5 instant savings = $2.08 for Cascade and 2 Air Mist.

  1. Thank you very much. I sent a scenario to you….and don’t worry, I won’t email again. I think I got it now. Off to Lisle tomorrow. I hope there is NO chance that they will stop taking orders due to cleared warehouse. I would be so unhappy.

    • That’s the beauty of shopping Lisle – it doesn’t matter if the warehouse is cleared out down to the cobwebs! Eventually the warehouse will be restocked and when the stuff arrives, all you do is pick it up. Obviously if it’s something you must have, you’ll have to learn patience, grasshopper…

      • My best advice (for all newbies) is to just start small. Don’t try to run everything at one time. Don’t worry that you’re messing up and paying more than someone else. Run the Puffs transactions by themselves so they’re out of the way. If you’re getting Febreze, then run a couple of those transactions of three items or two air mist Febreze and a Cascade. Work out what you want on paper and play around with the combinations at home or work until you know just what you want to do (and don’t forget the paper!) Run just one or two transactions at a time. You’ll be happier! Everyone starts out feeling scared and overwhelmed – everyone!

  2. If Eunice can make it to Lisle Jewel this morning, I can help. I’m good with smaller transactions, the huge stuff scares me a bit. I am prepared to be a bit scared today though. I will be there around 8:30ish depending on traffic. Eunice….respond to this if you want some help this morning.

    • I will love the help live in Oswego my kids are going to school at 8am. Thank you for offer. I will try to make it work and do what the she said start small and then go from there.also I’m waiting on some Q to come in the mail.

      • Smart move on the coupons. My suggestion is since you won’t have them to shop today, you staple the coupons that apply to each receipt and put it your purse; you can always post-redeem at another Jewel store (some stores are pissy about this, so you may want to return to the civilized folks at Lisle).

  3. Eunice….I live near you. See if the Goddess can give you my email address so I can get together with you. I don’t want to post it in public.I can help you if you haven’t shopped yet. I was at the Jewel in Lisle this morning and had great luck there.
