Here’s a list of the NINE recalled lots of Pur iron. I misunderstood the info – the Walgreens around Chicago all got the same lot number. Here is the complete recall list: All lot numbers start with 1013/, then the following numbers: 428, 429, 430, 431, 432, 436, 437, 438, 439.
Lots numbers 428, 429, 430 can also be found without the 1013 prefix.
If you purchased this earlier in the week, you’re gonna return them anyway, since they won’t do you any good without a Register Reward, right?

Question – I looked to find info on the pur absorb recall but could not find anything other then your site. I just want to check my lot # my box has this 1013-430 just want to make sure its good and you don’t have any typo’s thanks!!
Unless I’m totally deaf, I was given the 0103 numbers. Again, though, I have NOT found any mention whatsoever on either the FDA recall list for the past 30 days (voluntary or involuntary) nor is anything said on the manufacturer’s website. The whole thing stinks, if you want my opinion. I don’t think I trust Walgreens and this “recall.”
An observation: Mine all have one of two numbers:
BEST BEFORE END JUN-2013 BATCH No. 273 and
BEST BEFORE END OCT-2013 BATCH No. 1013-439
I notice that the “1013” could be October 2013. Following that thinking, “0103” would be January 2003. Any way we can double check those numbers? I don’t doubt you Goddess, but I do doubt the faceless voice of Peggy over the phone.
Okay, bonehead Goddess transposed the prefix: It’s SUPPOSED to be 1013, not the other way around. I just got off the phone with Lisle and we verified each lot number. And they have NO more information on this recall (not even why), or even if they will be able to get stock on the substitutions. Their next delivery is scheduled for Saturday, which would be cutting this deal rather close. Also, if you get a rain check, they’d have to get corporate to go along with marking all of the rain checks so that you get the RRs. IDK, it’s a huge mess. Lisle will call me as soon as they get any information.
And the reason the registers can still ring up the product is that they all have the same UPC numbers, it’s just the lots that are different. Any store that continues to sell products because it still scans is just begging for a call from corporate imo.
