My shoulda-coulda Walgreens trip

photo.JPG It’s always the easy-peasy deals that do you in, ya know? Decided to stop by Walgreens and turn a few of the Windex Touch-Up transactions into Colgate mouthwash products with the wave of my card and coupons.  Here is what was supposed to happen:

Windex Touch-Ups are 2/$7(!!) with a $2 RR when you buy two; I used the BOGO coupon from the 5/11 S, paid $4.09 and expected a $2 RR to print, which I would then use on the Colgate Optic White mouthwash on sale for $3.49.  Buy one bottle and one16 oz bottle of hydrogen peroxide on sale for 3/$1 with the in-ad coupon and pay with the $1 Colgate coupon from 5/11 S and the $2 RR from the prior transaction.  The Colgate transaction would then generate a $2.50 RR.  Planning on running this back and forth a few times.  Here’s what actually happened.

There was supposed to be a $1 National catalina overlapping the current Walgreens $2 RR and I fully expected to receive $3, which would have made the Colgate transaction very cheap when you bought two peroxides (about 17¢ plus tax).  Instead I only got the $1 RR to print.  Tried running the Windex deal with no coupons – ’cause you need to buy two for the $2 RR to print and I always like to cover my bases in case the latest register update completely messed up things…again… – only the $1 printed.

Gonna wait it out until later in the week when I’ve confirmed that the $2 RR is actually printing.  Note:  There is also a $1 Windex offer on Checkout51, which I redeemed.  Checkout51 is a program that, unlike most sites, pays you for shopping at any store.

These Checkout51 offers expire at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, May 28 2014. Members must buy the products in the United States and upload the receipts while the offers are live.
