The remodeling must have really messed up the clearance action, ’cause now that it’s over (and Jo Jo has crawled back under his rock), the cart is turning up at the weirdest times. Just stopped and there was another cart of cold brew coffee and k-cups. I took all the Papa Nicholaus cold brew ’cause it’s strong enough to put hair on your teeth (the mark of a good caffeine beverage, imo) and the Illy k-cups because they were $1.99 and there’s a $2.50 Ibotta rebate (limit 3). Let’s hope it resets overnight and I can grab more. These k-cups are definitely donation box items. Not pictured is diet Cheerwine, sour gummies, gum or Vermont Village Sipping Vinegar(!) which is raw and organic apple cider vinegar mixed with various flavors (like ginger) and honey; you mix a small amount in your water bottle. I am jealous! What store is this? I am in Bourbonnais and we never have any good PRICES on clearance. They still have a regular end cap but it is filled with junk (never coffee!) and it is not clearance priced either!
My favorite location is the Jewel in Lisle ’cause not only do they have great clearance prices, the employees are just so darned nice! I’ve had good luck at some other stores and some stores I won’t bother slowing down as I pass. One store has clearance prices higher than their sale ones (I’ve been told the mgr refuses to reduce things, even when it’s patently absurd to think people are buying cases of ground cloves in the summer a dime less, for example). My advice is to stop whenever you’re out and about in a new area and maybe you’ll be pleasantly surprised. If I have to drive to a doctor or dentist appointment I always see where there’s a nearby Jewel. Remember, you can always go back to your local store to post-redeem. Sneer while you’re at it 🙂
I was tempted to snap a picture of my clearance shelf today……well it’s been this price for several weeks. The coffee bags were $6.98 and there has been 1 big bottle of All laundry soap priced with a red sticker $9.99 for weeks. (slightly larger than the one we got in J4U for $3.99 last week!)
My only other store within 45 minutes is Kankakee and they are just as bad on clearance. It’s not worth the drive to hunt any other stores but I will be stopping in if I ever get up in Chicagoland!
