Lisle Jewel tripping

You are looking at three half gallons of Nature’s Farm milk ($2 coupons), a large cottage cheese, twenty boxes of Totino’s Pizza Rolls (coupons), ten boxes of cheesy hash brown HH and the rest is all clearance cans of dog food.  Check your local Jewel to see what they are clearancing out: the cans were .10 each!   Subtotal was $66+, but with the judicious use of coupons, cats and RRs, I was able to bring it down to $2.44  –  $2.20 was tax (mostly high due to the dog food).  I also got back $17 in cats.

  1. Can you roll cats at Jewel? I know you can at Dominick’s (did today for that hot Gain deal..woot) and went to Jewel and bought 10 boxes of the HH. Tempted but too chicken to go back and do it again using my cats from the first transaction.

  2. I rolled my cats on the Jewel HH transaction – 84 boxes of HH and I am not sure what to do with it…LOL!!! 84 boxes were less than $5 OOP . And, the story of the day – went to go fill up this a.m. at the gas station – Chase shut down my card for possible fraudulent activity at Jewel yesterday! LMAO!! The woman from Chase Fraud Department asked me what I bought at a grocery store across 8 transactions less than a dollar per transaction! I wasn’t sure how to answer….didn’t think she would believe me!

    • That’s happened to me at Wags! First time was on a Friday evening when I ran two transactions, then the third was declined – less than a buck! My first thought was that my account had been hacked, but a visit to the bank’s ATM showed at least $10 available:). Turns out all banks have computerized fraud detection that will put a freeze on your account if a couple of similar transaction occur within a few minutes of each other. In my case, the bank dropped my limit to .09! Boy, you should have heard me yell first when I found out the explanation and the second time when they tried to charge me a fee for using the balance inquiry function at the ATM. Naturally, it didn’t stick, but now I know to vary the amounts by paying a nickel or penny or dime to reduce the amount. Same thing will happen with your Preferred Card, so make sure to add a penny to change the amount owed.
