Most of the time the savings are under a dime (zowie!), but this week Jewel has Lucerne shredded and chunk cheese on BOGO and there’s a $2 personalized price on chunks on my JFU account, which means a buck each! Of course it’s a limit one per day, but I’m gonna make sure that one gets used every day – I mean I drive by Jewel at least once a day. I was able to get both chunks for only $2; my slice price is $2.10, but those aren’t on BOGO. Some of you got a cheap shred price, so go for that BOGO as well.

same PP here. but will the limit of 1 prevent the discounts from pairing by seeking out the first scanned, $2 item to be the freebie? i’ve had varying success combining PPs with BOGOs. one that failed months ago was Signature Select potato chips. i don’t remember what its limit was, if any. however, i’ve come up with a tentative theory that a Limit 1 could be the difference-maker.
so *definitely* share your results if you try this!
I have $2.10 price for “slices” but husband has $1.64 price for “shreds”! We will be trying this offer next trip in for sure.
My experience with J4U is; it will ring up regular price then next item FREE and then AT THE END the register adjusts the personalized price since you entered your number. Sometimes the register takes a few seconds to “think” and come up with your total. If it is wrong, my cashier will usually check your phone and then manually enter it in to correct it? Hopefully it will come up correct!
at a self-checkout about a few/couple months ago, when i was combining a PP (of $5.49, iirc) and a BOGO sale on the 24oz Hormel marinated pork loins, the register was hesitating to give the full discount upon scanning the second one. i had to grab a small token item (1 banana) to make it “think” and get the math right. it’s like the register thought i was running an overage, even though i wasn’t. anyway, a superb final price. i’m pretty sure that PP was listed as “Unlimited”.
I should have pointed out that I had done this and it worked with the chunk (didn’t want to take a picture of two chunks of cheese!). I also have the $2.10 slices, but nothing for shreds. All my personalized prices came right off – weird that when something actually works right we’re all surprised. I’ll edit the post. Thanks.

Funny thing is….I was chatting with a Jewel employee and he thought it may NOT work since it says “limit 1”. I had more confidence and this time I was actually right!
Husband said we will be going in every day this week for a different set of cheeses for 83c each!
glad to hear it; thanks for the edit. the weird thing is, my chunk PP is now showing $1.64. i can swear it was $2 before! now, maybe i just recalled that this week’s was higher than the $1.48 i had recently… and then combined with reading the $2 on your site and maybe the $2.10 i have for slices, it made me misremember.
My cheap shreds have reset today to CHUNKS for only $1.56 each! It is still in the Jewel weekly ad thru tomorrow, Thurs. the 28th. That means 2 more days of 78c chunks or a full pound of cheese for $1.56! (since the chunks are 8 ounces) I will be adding some more to my hoarding stockpile!
I got $`1.56 shreds this time instead of the chunks and the BOGO coupon through the 28th as well, so lots more cheese. Have to get PITA to check her account ’cause she had them BOTH last time.
