I had a bunch of those artisan bread coupons to use up today, so made a fast run through Jewel. Dr. Pepper was free today, the Tyson nuggets were $1.99 after the $3 coupon and all the rolls and breadsticks! will go into the freezer. I needed butter, but after seeing the $4.79 shelf tag for Land o’Lakes, said the hell with it and took all the 18% light cream quarts they had in the case. Making butter is easy-peasy and cheaper than buying the stuff.
Total was $30 OOP, including a free dozen eggs cat and a $5/$50 cat PITA found. Sheesh! Do people really pay this much for food?
Oooo…I grew up in the sticks and we would make our own butter all the time. My motherwould trick us into shaking the jars as fun to make the butter 🙂 we eventually wisened up to her laborious deceptive butter practices. If I lived back where I grew up, had a dairy cow and still couponed a la deranged.me I would be a free woman!
you bet your ass they do, especially when they lose half of their food between their fridge and chest freezer….kind of tough to NOT put anything on your bread when everything had melted in the heat! I HATE comed.
