Jewel Kleenex double dip cat 1/23-25

Didn’t post this before the blackout because I wanted to make sure the Lisle Jewel could get stock in – ordering coupons and getting rain checks won’t help when the cat promo is over, right?  Coupon Dede is selling the Cool Touch coupons for .08 with a 10 coupon limit (boo) and the same price on the .50/3 with no limit.  Choose your poison.  She’s dropped her minimum order back to $3.

Here’s the deal:  Starting tomorrow the 19th, when you buy $10 worth of specified products at Jewel, you get a $3 OYNO catalina.  There is a Kleenex catalina that starts the 23rd and gives you $1 OYNO when you buy five Kleenex products, $1.50 OYNO when you buy six and $2 OYNO when you buy seven.  Since seven ($10.50) is the magic number for both promotions, here’s what you do:

Buy seven of the Kleenex Cool Touch cubes. The Kleenex boxes are on sale  2/$3, so buy seven for $10.50 and use seven of the .50 coupons from 1/1 SS.  Pay $7 and get back a $3 and a $2 OYNO catalina, which you roll into the next transaction of seven.

If you don’t like the Cool Touch tissues or just want larger boxes, the coupon isn’t as good:  .50/3.  In this case you are shelling out $10.50 less a buck, get back $5 in cats and you’ve spent $4.50 for seven of the large boxes of Kleenex.  I’m going to be picking up probably 49 of each ’cause we use a lot of tissue and the deals are way too few and far between to suit my comfort level.  28¢ and 64¢ will give me a giant comfort zone until the next freebie shows up.  about the time EC goes off the air…

    • Okay the Cool Touch would be .50 at CVS and .28 at Jewel. It’s gonna be better at Jewel because you don’t have to hit as high a mark: Jewel’s threshold is about $10 and CVS’s is $30. So even though you are getting double back at CVS ($10 vs $5), you’re only paying a third to start with at Jewel. Does that make sense?

      • No, I meant the 3 packs of 100 tissues in next week’s flyer. They are 2.99 with 1 eb, then with the .50 coupon (on a multi pack), it’s 1.50/3 pack, or .50 each. I am looking at the right flyer, aren’t I?

        • Yeah, the week of the 22nd they’ll have the 3-packs of Kleenex at CVS for $1.99 after ecb, but those are 110 ct boxes, while the Jewel ad says 75-184 ct boxes, so you’re better off at Jewel, since your cost is .0034 per tissue vs. .0045 at CVS. And you won’t have to replace the boxes as often.

          • Thanks, I was wondering if the boxes were bigger at Jewel and so they are! Every time I blow my nose, I will think of how you saved me $.0011, thank you!

  1. I did this today and I did not get any cats. Is it only on certain UPC’s? I bought (1) cool touch and (6) 184ct boxes. Three of those boxes were specially printed, the others were the regular colored kleenex. I just returned them and figured I would try again when I knew why it didn’t work…

      • I didn’t get anything, including the $3 which should have started today. Maybe that “after manufacturer’s coupons” fine print is coming true? I needed kleenex like now, and I had RR to burn…. so I thought I would give it a try.

  2. So lisle will have sufficient stock of this? I’m willing to make my trip hoping my dedelivery comes. 21 for me. Wish I had this two weeks ago when all the kids had the snot faucets. But I’m sure that will come again before the season is over.

    • IF they don’t have sufficient stock, someone’s head will roll as I gave the info to the store manager as soon as I learned of this. She told her asst mgrs while I was standing there. I’m getting 50 each of the cubes and bigger rectangles.
