I hope all of you were able to get a freezer. They’re great for people in apartments or smaller homes. Don’t have room in your kitchen? No basement? Think creatively! Put one in the dining room or living room against the wall and cover it with a linen tablecloth. Looks elegant and stylish. Since you should only be opening this a couple of times a week (at most), this arrangement works out really well for those with limited storage.
This year’s promotion, honestly?, there was no promotion, imo. Prior years they mailed out cards/flyers – this year? nada. little tiny ad in the weekly ad.
Having said that, the Lisle Jewel still has plenty of freezers. This week has the first of the 2fers (Dean’s Churn is BOGO, so get two); if you don’t get your freezer by Wednesday, you’re SOL. I’ll update the coupon list with BOGO info and dates as I get them.
Love your idea, for real!
But I’m in desperate need of a deranged article on extreme ways to hide your freezers from your husband!
How about just a few comments? The Jewel (5.2 cu ft) chest freezers are smaller than a washer. They’re not frost-free, so you can run them in an unheated garage or enclosed back porch. Use a laundry room and store your Purex Complete and Gain fabric sheets on top. Dining, living or family room covered with a fancy table cloth and pictures or other displays. You’re not opening these more than once (or twice – most) a week, so not a lot of moving stuff. If people have pix of their “hidden” freezers, send them in and I’ll do a post. I’d love to see them, actually!
