Jewel for Fresh Express .25

Update:  Finally read the current Jewel ad (I know, I know, but the damned thing was so boring!).  There’s a buy two get one free deal on the Fresh Express salad, so I should have picked up in multiples of three for totally free kits – I’ll hit ’em up tomorrow for more of these cause they’re totally tasty and totally priced right!

Jewel has the Fresh Express salad kits on sale for $2.99 through tomorrow (the 7th) only.  Stopped by earlier today and picked up four bags of the Ceasar blend (and a clearance cranberry wasabi sauce for 50¢ – it’s good!).  Handed over four of the $2 coupons from the February edition of the Tony Tantillo Magazine (Dominicks).  It’s the same pdf coupons we had for the spinach, so if you printed it then, you’re in luck ’cause it’s no longer available.

Four salads scanned and then a $2.99 Fresh Express kit coupon came off, together with my four $2 coupons!   This brings the price down to 97¢ plus low tax for all four or about a quarter each!

  1. This is the buy salad get free avocado deal — it’ll work at stores with old registers, but at stores with new registers you’ll have to buy the avocado.

    • No, I finally read the ad: Buy two Fresh Express salads and get one free, so had I purchased only three or six I would have been .03 or .06 in negative territory. I’m heading back there tomorrow because these are very tasty…especially for the price!

    • The ad shows buying two of the regular salads and getting the kit free. If you buy three regular salads, it should just take off the $2.99 automatically and since you’re using the three $2 coupons, you’ll need a small filler or some other item (I chose the ever-popular filler pints of Cherry Garcia, but then I’m a purist) to take up the .03 overage (unless your store has no problems with marking down coupons).

  2. Not to be confusing — but the coupon is for the kits, and the salads I think are cheaper so won’t trigger the instant wyb 3, you might have to buy four. But this is my day to be wrong…

  3. Rachel have you had any difficulties with these Safeway coupons at the Jewel in Lombard? I remember with the last ones I had where they ended up being 50 cents each the cashier tried to tell me I could only use one coupon per transaction. She had to call a manager over and they reluctantly pushed it through in one transaction since I said I would then just do single transactions. Just wondering if I should skip that Jewel and hit the one in Glen Ellyn as I’ll pass both tonight on my way home.
