Keep your eyes open for clearances on Thanksgiving-related products. I found these sugar cookies reduced to 50¢ a pack. No insert coupons (only saw Pillsbury blinkies), but you can always return within 60 days if coupons appear. Remember, that same Jewel coupon policy update that removed Register Rewards as a form of payment (remember that store, Walgreens? whatever happened to them…) gave us the ability to use coupon values higher than the product purchased to reduce the cost of other items in our order. No cash back like Walmart, but it still works for me. Click here to review their current policy JEWEL COUPON POLICY 6/2012. It’s a pdf, so download and carry with you, if you sometimes have “issues” with a store.
I got 3 $1.50 off store coupons at Jewel on Saturday, for dish detergent, bath tissue, and trash bags (no idea why). Based on this policy, it looks like I can get overage even on store coupons–and can combine them with manufacturer coupons.
I LOVE those store coupons! You can usually get the small bottles of Palmolive or Dawn on sale for that and check out the trash bags in the $1 section (in Osco, near cleaning supplies). And of course you want to combine with mfr coupons because overage is a many-splendored thing…
