Been hearing about good deals and crummy deals – some stores are apparently confused about the concept of clearing out stuff on the cheap. Heard that the Danada Jewel in Wheaton had half an aisle full of clearance…well, they did earlier!
Here is a very, very small pile of stuff – the tic tacs and almond butter are for Rachel…I don’t ask and she doesn’t tell. The almond butter was only $2.25! I stocked up on my favorite gum in the world: Extra Dessert Gum in Apple Pie and Key Lime Pie. I’d never been able to find the Key Lime cheap and wasn’t willing to pay full boat. and now? let’s just say i’m set for as long as i have toothies…
Lots of baby formula (power), jars of baby food. I took all the boxes of the dried spinach tortellini because it was 60¢ a box! Twinings cans of loose tea were $1.70, Krusteaz cracked wheat bread mixes were 60¢ and they had a large quantity of Coco Loco for 80¢ – what, Wheaton still doesn’t drink? Large bags of Kibbles were $3.50 ($1 coupon in 10/7 rp); the small bags of Pedigree were $2 (there are $1 in 9/30 rp). Lots of Carnation Evaporated Milk (.50/2 coupon in 9/30 rp) for 50¢ each, so only a quarter!
And remember, you can always return with your coupons and receipt(s) for up to 60 days.
Nice haul! I probably know the answer to this question, but before I make the trek, did you leave any dog food on the shelf?
Okay, so no dog food, but I scored some cool stuff and there’s still a lot left. If anyone sees dog food on clearance and they’re not getting it, I’d appreciate a shout. I’m trying to help a family be able to keep their dogs. They can’t afford to feed them at the moment, so I’ve been feeding them since the spring and I’ve exhausted my supply. Thanks!
Danada had three of the Beneful small bags on the bottom left, rather hidden behind some display for $3 a bag. Saratoga (near Main & Ogden in DG) didn’t have much of anything and taking a quarter isn’t a sale, it’s an excuse for a riot. I’ll post if/when I hear more info. Is this the same family I gave the gum to? ’cause I gots lots more now (NOT my precious, of course).
Yes, it’s the same family. They were finally getting things together and then they had another setback, so I’ve been keeping the pups fed. And yes,I learned my lesson and shouldn’t have used my dogs’ small stockpile, but it’s what I had to do to make sure everyone was properly taken care of.
