My internet went out last evening after working intermittently for several days. SC kept insisting it was my Macs (heresy), while I insisted it was the new pieceofcrap modem and router he insisted on getting for the N band. Guess who won? Called the 877 customer service number to make sure it wasn’t our line having issues (for years, there were insulation issues in the underground lines which would cause outages). Customer service in India wants customer number on back of phone bill. I don’t know about you guys, but I haven’t gotten an actual paper bill in the mail for many, many years. (In the past I’ve had the dummies tell me I could pull it up online – hello! why am I calling about internet then?). Tell the lackwit this and she asks for my phone number (she’s already gotten my name). Give it to her with the 1- prefix. She asks for my email, which I say I don’t want to give out because I don’t want any more junk emails. She says she can’t help me if I don’t give her the information. I say I’ve already given you my phone number 630…. to which she really snottily responds that I gave her a 1-630 number. I ask for a supervisor. I am disconnected.
Gave up on the ATT customer un-service center, and reattached and installed my old (standby unit purchased new at a garage sale) 2Wire modem/routerand now I’m back online.
Deal with the D-Link support people IN INDIA, who keep insisting that they want to troubleshoot the unit and have me reconnect it before they’ll do anything. They sure don’t know the goddess. I’m on hold for a supervisor. Now I’ve gotten a supervisor whose first question was had I installed this modem before or was this the first time. Swear to god that if I could pull people through phone lines and beat them to death with the receiver….i’d be sharing a cell with Peterson…
Sent eight emails for RMA – none received as yet. Finally after using three separate email accounts, I get it and let the poor bastard off the hook.
So hang up and call ATT support – in this country – to complain about their crappy out-of-country support. Actually, I told them if this continued, I’d switch to VOIP and T-Mobile cells for back up. that oughta scare ’em.
AND THAT’S HOW THE GODDESS WILL BRING JOBS BACK TO THIS COUNTRY. VOTE FOR ME.
We had horrible phone and internet issues with at&t
at the end of June. When you call in and get India, tell
them you want to speak to a tech rep. in the usa and
they will transfer you-for us that is Dallas. Our land line was dead and the net was terrible. Turns out it was the connection in the box in the utility easement–wires were crossed. But it took 10 days to get fixed-first guy put in order to dig up the back yard. After questioning
customer service everyday, they sent out another man who had it fixed in 30 minutes.
Sheer insanity! It’s horrible these days! I wondered where you went and am glad you are back! I will totally vote for you!
Comcast is no better! There is no such thing as customer service when it comes to cable/internet companies. They refused to give me a credit on my account when their repair guy did not make the appointment time. They told me the appointment was not scheduled correctly I told them that wasn’t my fault it was their error and they had an appointment guarantee . Then I got double charged… 1 for the self install kit we never got (which the guy said was $10 but didn’t tell me there was a $30 shipping fee!) And also a $30 fee to send someone to install but no one ever showed! Check those bills!
I won’t get into details as I can’t tell you the story with out my favorite f word after every word, but recently I had an unpleasant experience with an AT&T rep in Tennessee. They do enjoy arguing with the correct.
I LOVE my att service but you have to FIGHT for repairs.
Unfortunately, for them, I don’t care how many screaming kids are in the background, I will argue until I win when I know I am right. I pay them over $400 for all the services I receive per month. They can put money on the fact I’m not going to go long without a proper working phone/TV/Internet.
When all else fails, go to their customer service twitter. They WILL come thru for you. And you can do it all on your phone.
I still receive a paper bill from all my utilities. You never know when you will need it.
i love the techs (and ds is one, but not here) you get who suggest you reboot and that will fix it – unfortunately for dh after 1 1/2 hrs on with customer service of Clear doing everything they told him to, he did reboot and voila, problem fixed!!
glad you are back dear Goddess, you know we missed you!
