I Walk the Walk

or whatever that saying is.  You see here 48 rolls of Scott paper towels, 48 rolls of (nasty but softer than Marcal) Scott toilet paper and 24 packs of Scotts flushable wipes refills.  Total OOP was $34.08; it would have been $47 for the paper towels alone on sale. I rolled my $3 RRs and gained another week; the $2 transactions I ran over and over, then took the cats and receipts directly to cs to get my cash back.  This is the method I’d recommend when you are not looking to roll cats.  You won’t tie up the self-scan attendant’s time and makes it your whole transaction flow more smoothly.

Note:  Have you looked at the size of these Scott cats?  They are easily 30% longer than any I’ve ever seen.  And this from a company that keeps talking the green talk? puhleez

    • Cash. It actually goes pretty quickly. I just lay all the cash on that shelf to the side and grab as needed. You just use the couple of items you are buying (in other words, don’t take your stuff out of the cases), hit do not bag this item, pay cash and you’re done with a transaction. Had I done the 48 transactions on EC, I would have started by walking up and down the aisles, looking for a clearance item I might have missed, and ended up spending six hours. As it was, it was a little over an hour from getting in and getting out the door. When I was finished, I grabbed all the cats and receipts and got the moolah back.

  1. Hi there,

I’m so confused by your scotts transaction. You used one $3.00 rr to purchase first Scotts transaction then you paid for each other transaction thereafter? Went to cs to hand over all $2.00 cats to get the money for them?

Just trying to figure this out!

Thanks for all that you do!!!!!

    • The first 24 transactions were for three separate items so paid $4 and got back $3. Used the $3 rrs from Splenda to roll them over for another week. Then, since I didn’t have any $2 cats to roll, I just ran 24 more transactions of 2 items, paid $2.39 and let the cat hang there. Gathered up all my 24 cats and receipts after the last transaction and went to customer service, where they converted all the cats (coupons) into cash (since I would have used them any way for each individual transaction. It’s exactly the same as buying something without a coupon and then returning with the coupon(s) and receipt within 60 days to get your cash for the coupon(s).

  2. If you are NOT going to use all that TP I will gladly travel to your area to take it off your hands…up here in the boondocks we all have septic systems and that is the easiest stuff on our septic…the nicer, plusher brands cause us to have to pump it more often! Just sayin’

      • Yes, I would love too! I will be coming your way this weekend…let me know…send me an email…I think you still have my email right?

    • Carrie, I’ve read this about the Scott paper before, that it’s better for the older houses. My mom (in north Oak Park) used Scotts and the Wags Big Roll for many years.

  3. Absolute genius! I was freaking out about tying up the check out lady. Ah…hopefully my Jewel will be as rational.
