I’m not a Goodwill shopper, but only because they didn’t have any in stores (until recently) my neck of the woods. My main shopping today was all about replacing my knitting needles and yarn which were tossed by The Drunken Sailor aka DH, who somehow believes aluminum needles can go bad…After Tuesday Morning and Walmart crapped out, someone suggested Goodwill, so off I went.
It’s a tough world out there for knitting needles, folks…If any of you have any leads on good yarns and/or needles, please let me know. However, since I was at Goodwill anyway, I picked up this brand, spankin’ new pair of LLBean women’s pajamas. LLBean is my favorite go-to for sleepwear ’cause it’s comfortable and lasts forever – but pricey. Their pajamas and nightgowns run about $50…$4.99 at Goodwill. Heck, I’d have paid that for a used pair! Got PITA a pair of flannel sleep pants that say I ♥ NY, which she’ll flip over.
Try the thrift store at Ogden/naper-Second Chance (McDonalds lot). They usually have yarn, not sure if any needles lately. Or the thrift store by Good Sam hospital, they have a lot of craft items-(Gingham tree)
OMG I LOVE 2nd chance – at least that location. From what they’ve told me, this Naperville store is the higher-end (read: designer) merchandise: I picked up new 7ForAllMankind jeans for $35. An entire rack devoted to J.Jill? Have never tried the Good Sam one but will check it out – never thought about yarn at 2nd chance. Nice how it’s a charity support store. Thanks for the info.
I go to Second Chance once a week-Love that place ! Take them your empty plastic/paper bags too-they appreciate them a lot !
Was just at Good Sam Hosp. Gingham Tree Resale shop this morning and believe it or not they have knitting needles, instantly thought of you. Came home and here I am. Hope they still have them if you decide to go 🙂
Ran over and grabbed three pairs of the short length metal needles and a couple of skeins of really good wool for $7! Signed up for their mailing list ’cause there’s an upcoming sale. Thanks so much for another new resale shop!
