Update: Note that you cannot do more than one card per transaction – you’ll only get the one cat. Also, when you go to redeem the $20 cats, you can also only use one per transaction. Not a deal-breaker by any means, but something you should be aware of. And for those of you unable to run this at your Jewel, Dominicks is also running the same promotion. If you’re “forced” to buy multiple cards, use them to pay your regular payments: I used the $500 Visa from the last deal to pay cell phone bills, PITA’s tuition, anything you want/need to pay. And with Jewel’s coupon policy, you can always post-redeem (but still 1 per receipt).

My Jewel said no I cannot buy gift cards with a gift card. I only got to buy one. Ehh, up $14.
The Jewel on Ogden in Downers said no as well. I only got one. Is the Jewel in Lisle doing this?
I’ve been to a couple of Jewel stores and bought cards at each so maybe you should try more locations? There’s the one on Main & 63rd, the one on Ogden & Washington; and it depends on whether or not they have the $100 value cards, too. I think some stores got wiped out (from what I’ve been hearing). And frankly, even if you got shot down at all the stores (not likely), you could plan what payments you’ll need to make in the next month and buy the cards one at a time with a credit card. You’ll still get the $20 store cats and can then use the $100 cards for things you’d be paying for anyway. We all still come out way ahead.
