Winegard FlatWave Amplified Razor Thin HDTV Indoor Antenna w/Clear Circuit Technology Signal Amplification for only $39.99 (retail is $80).  We dumped the cable/dish a couple of years ago (read post); since I don’t watch TV, it wasn’t a major issue for me, but DH is vid-obsessed!  He has Netflix streaming, so he can watch movies on his tablet and/or laptop or phone or the big TV in the living room – or all four!  He periodically gets a new outdoor antenna for improved reception on the free channels (guys love tech stuff, you know).  One thing we didn’t know before starting out down this road:  You will get a better picture on the HD free channels than with a cable/dish streamed channel.  Why?  Because providers compress the show to allow for more programs in the same amount of band width.  IDK if that makes sense; what I mean is you get the full bandwidth over your antenna, but compressed over the cable/dish channel.
