Westbrook Market on 63rd and Woodward in Woodridge closed recently; there’s been quite a few stores in this location over the past ten or so years.  Familia fresh Market opened about two weeks ago – thanks to a reader alert – and has some seriously competitive prices:

Arrachera (skirt steak) is $3.69/lb (sold only in the butcher case), avocados are 3/$1 (hey, just like our shampoos!), Prairie Farms milk is $1.59 a gallon (all varieties except whole) and my personal favorite, Prairie Farms half and half pints are only 39¢ each (didn’t see a limit sign, either).  Picked up four – dates of Oct. 6.  Mussman’s large eggs are 89¢ a dozen and Dutch Farm butter is $1.69 (salted or unsalted).  Dutch Farm shredded cheese is 99¢ for 8 oz.  Bags of chicken drumsticks are 49¢ a pound, large ears of corn are 7/$1…

Fud chicken franks are 39¢ – – I’d buy ’em just to be able to say the name!

Didn’t get a chance to ask about their coupon policy, but will call or stop in tomorrow.   Ad says they carry a large variety of gluten-free and organic items.  Sales run Wednesday through Tuesday.  Open every day from 7 am until 9 pm, although I’ll have to take their word on the opening time.
