Dominicks…sigh…

One positive thing about shopping at Dominicks – you don’t have to worry about getting hit in the aisle by another shopper’s cart!  Won’t bother with any pictures:  not that much to show.  Needed brats for grilling, and I still have a few of the $5 store coupons from the Glade deal last month, so thought I’d drive on over and check out the clearance meat section.  Nothing looked good, so checked the dates on the Jimmy Dean sausage rolls, since I always carry around my $2/2.  One roll was dated October 16, so the PITA handed it to the butcher, telling him it was out of date and there were a lot of others with today’s date, October 17.  Thanks, etc.  Get the buns, rolls, cherry turnovers, shhhh and went back to check if they’d been reduced.  Yeah, the butcher had reduced the expired roll to .99 and left all the other rolls on the shelf.  So I did the only proper thing: report him to the manager.  Most of the rolls have the dates stamped just under the seam flap; you have to lift it up to check the date.  Do you really think most people do this?

And no, I have plenty of sausage rolls in my freezer, so I wasn’t hovering around to get more.  And I wouldn’t report someone for an honest mistake, but when you specifically tell the butcher that stuff is expired…  As someone once pointed out, Dominicks accepts expired coupons. which you use on expired products…
