I had a rain check for the .99 dish soap, a rain check for the $5.99 powder detergent and another rain check giving me $3 off of every three Gain products purchased (that instant $3 from the sale). Since they still had not received any of the Gain powder, the manager suggested I substitute, so I took the three HE liquids pictured here. Total OOP (after coupons and HIGH tax) was $8.43. This was at the Woodridge Dominicks, which is a very nicely-run store – for me, anyway, so don’t start in with your bitchin’ and whining.

I should probably know this, but when you redeem a raincheck, do you have to go to customer service or can you use a regular check out?
No, it’s a valid question. Normally you would just go to a cashier, but in this case I had a rain check to make the dish soap .99, a rain check to make the powder Gain 5.99 and another rain check to take $3 off every transaction of three. And to top it off, they were substituting the liquid for the powder.
So you can bet I used the customer service guy (actually, it was the store manager).
