Heard a rumor…that the Dominicks in Western Springs will accept expired mfr coupons through April 1. And no, that was not an early April Fool’s joke. Decided to drive on over – getting lost along the way – which was part of the master plan, ’cause I saw a Wags in Hinsdale with lots of Baby Magic lotion and wash! Grabbed four (tax was only .22 each); did not check on the Nasogel, but there was no MotrinPM.
So, arrive at the Dominicks in Western Springs (just east of Wolf on 47th Ave) and ask CS if they do accept them: YES! If they are mfr coupons and the register accepts them (she said that 99% of them are going through). Note that this does not include the OYNO coupons (boo), but it does include the Free Soda, etc. cats floating around. I decided to try using those soda cats on the 12 pks of Coke. It’s B2G2 and figured I could use three or four of the cats – no. Only 2 because I’m buying two. Well, hell’s bells, the day I spend seven bucks for two 12 packs, you can slap my ass and call me Sally! Yes, that is what I would pay for four 12-packs after subtracting the $6 cats…
So now I’m going back and being smart about this. There is a Supercoupon for $2.49 6-packs, limit 4. My cats are up to $3, so three cokes right there. Now to check out the sales paired with any expired coupons. wish me luck…
That’s my dominick’s. I was just there – used a few expired coupons – maybe 3 or 4 out of 20 at the self checkout. Tried to use the Athenos $1/1 coupon on the 99cents greek yogurt – beeped – self checkout attendant came over and tried it and then said oh it’s expired we don’t take expired manufacturer coupons anymore. Well we all know it is because the product is 99cents and the coupon is $1/1 but that is not worth the trouble to explain to these people. How did you do with expireds?
How did you know which Dominick’s had the Baby Magic Lotion?
The Baby Magic was from the Hinsdale Wags that I found on the way to the Western Springs Dominicks. I’d never been there before, but made sure to hit them a couple of more times to roll the MotrinPM RRs and gain another week on them.
So WTs are out of the equation here huh? I mean, I have a ton of the baileys coffee ones but they always beep, did you try those?
Wine tags are always going to beep because they don’t tag to any specific product, only product type (salty snack, coffee, mixer). It beeps to prompt the cashier to check that you have purchased the required product type. So whether they’re expired or not it will beep. I used a bunch of the expired ones during this shopping trip – actually, I think they were all expired!
