DH wants charcoal, let DH go get it is my new motto!  I picked up two bags at Ultra last night, but he wanted more (given the price, a wise decision), so I loaded him up with the Bayer and Kingsford coupons and explained how each should be used.

and only two phone calls!

Cashier told DH that he couldn’t use two coupons on the charcoal because that would be doubling!  DH said one was a manufacturer’s coupon and the other was a store coupon (see, you can teach an old dog).  Cashier was hesitant, but tried it – saints be praised, it worked!  Cashier was surprised, but ran through all the coupons.

Bottom line:  11 16.6 bags of Kingsford charcoal and 12 boxes of children’s Bayer aspirin came to $28.39 ($2 Bayer coupons scanned for full price – this was at cashier, not self-scan).  Remember, another nice thing about store coupons is that their value reduces the amount you are taxed on – in this case we saved about 15¢ on each bag!
