Quite a bit of time is taken up with deals that fall through or insufficient product quantity. Case in point: Walgreens this week has the Triaminic potions and strips on sale 2/$10 with a $5 RR. There are two coupons in 12/4 S – one $3/2 any Triaminic product and $3/1 for Triaminic Fever Reducer. Well, you already know which one I’d use! You would be $4 OOP plus low tax to get back $5 (and the products, but who cares about that). This weeks ad has a $2 off coupon on any Cortaid which would be very nice when paired with the $3 Cortaid product in 1/8 S1.
It would work like this: Buy four Cortaid .5 oz tubes for about $3.99 each, hand over the $3 coupons and you’re at $3.96. Add the two Triaminic Fever Reducers less the two $3 coupons and you’re at $7.96. Hand over the in-ad coupon and the register will automatically take off the $7.96, leaving you to pay low tax to get back a $5 RR! Do this a few hundred times and hellllooo Disney!
except…mfr has shipped no Fever Reducer to the warehouse here or the one in Ohio (yes, I checked). The buyer at corporate had no idea if or when the product would come in. Too much time was wasted over a non-starter. And so the life of a Goddess goes…
However, carry the coupons with you and if you should come across any small stock at a Wags, run this deal once or twice. If you only have those $2 tearpad coupon for fever reducer you will be up less $$. And if you use the regular Triaminic products with the $3/2 coupon, you’ll be up $2.96.
Good luck with the Cortaid, went to 2 Walgreens in Plainfield and niether would take both coupons (store and manufactures) I was told I was trying to make money and commiting coupon fraud !!!!! Finally the last Walgreens on Caton Farm told me they would take both coupons but would bring down manufactures to only $2.29 (the cortaid was $4.29). At this point I just said fine. I was to tired to even argue.
Which is why we need to do some remedial work with these Wags. Slowly but surely we’ll get more stores on the dark side because their DMs are gonna cry when they see the numbers being posted at couponer-friendly stores.
The one on Caton Farm and Ridge?!?!?! Or the one on 59?
The one on Ridge is AWFUL when it comes to coupons. I’m surprised they didn’t call the cops on you if that was the one.
I did this at 2 different Walgreen’s. Once the cashier gave me a hard time, so I just paid for it and went over to the camera department. Guess what? The manager refunded me the money.
If you still have your wags flyer from two weeks ago grab it and find the page with Brita Water pitcher on it. PUT IT IN YOUR PURSE!! I used it last week to educate a store manager who NEVER let me use a MQ and a Q from their monthly book! I just asked him to explain why “headquarters” would publish that if we weren’t allowed to do it? He had no answer. He was very nice. And geuinally surprised. I have about 3 more nearby Walgreens to educate, including one I go to Michigan.
UP here in no-man’s land…also know as on the IL-WI border the idiots that run these wags are SO STUPID they don’t even understand their own ads…I have tried to educate them and they are like: “that’s a misprint” blah, blah, blah…for this reason I almost NEVER step foot into a wags.
So now we’re gonna have to Google Map all the spots on our “Take Back the Wags” road trip, right?
