cooking with the cheapo – donut holes!

I bought one of these Babycakes cake pop makers last Christmas from Kohl’s.  Didn’t use it much ’cause I kept getting the batter all over and it made a big mess – easier to just make eggs and bacon!  However, while reading reviews, one person said she used a squeeze bottle to fill the form and it was a “eureka!” moment for me.  You make up one box of cake mix, adding anything extra you might want:  I used a yellow cake mix with lots of powdered cinnamon blended in and then poured (with a funnel) into the bottle.  This was easy-peasy, folks.  Each batch takes about 5 minutes to cook.  I tossed the hotties into a gallon bag of sugar and cinnamon to coat them, then placed them on the rack to cool.  Then into the bowl.  Each mix makes about 7 batches of 12 each.  So now I feel much better about buying that Babycakes waffle sticks maker!  Remember, if you’re making any purchases at Kohl’s, use code CCYT115 for 20% off.  Free shipping with no minimum and no code needed and you’ll still earn $15 for every $50 you spend (after promo codes).

  1. Those look so good- I never got one last year because
I could see filling the cavities would be sloppy at best.
I had the yen yesterday for Mexican hot chocolate–
try chocolate cake mix, extra melted chocolate, some
cinnamon and cayenne pepper. Since I have Kohl’s cash to
use this week, I may invest in of these.
