Cheap Jewel shopping & a great catalina!

Picked up the Nutra-gel nail stuff on the Osco clearance cart marked $1.99 (retail is $11.99!) – there is a $2 coupon in 8/4 R1.  yeah!  EE coffee filters are on sale for a buck, so I picked up six and used by $1/2 EE coupon to get the packs for 50¢.  The EE coffee creamer also got a coupon – it was $2.69 a quart.  The Ensure multipacks were also on clearance for $1.06 and I’l return with the $3/2 coupon from 9/8 S2 for slight overage.  I also used a $6/3 Gillette coupon on the little foamy cans for the overage.

The Campbell’s Skillet Sauces are on sale for 2/$4 – use the $1 coupon from 8/25 S, which would make it $1 – crazy prices, I know!  By three pouches and you’ll get a $1.50 Catalina, which makes them only 50¢ for some very, very tasty stuff.  The Thai green curry rocks and I will be stocking up on it.

  1. Be sure to check the exp dates on the Skillet sauces. Maybe it was just my Jewel but I found many of them were like a month & half expired already… Which is I think is saying a lot about a processed food item.

    • omg! I owe you big time! Just checked and the Green curry I already used was great: December, 2013, but the others? One expired July and the other three are October and November dates. That is NOT good at all because you’re right, this stuff must have been packaged years ago to be this close to expired. I’m bringing them back because I want to stock up and not worry about spoiled food (shut up, Rachel).

  2. These interested me—great way to use leftover grilled chicken or steak. At Kroger they were $2.99 a pouch
and even with a $1.00 off 1 coupon, they were still
pricey. My bet is that in within a year these will be
    discontinued.

    • I hope they don’t go away! The Creamy Chipotle is wonderful!! Just made some for lunch again today with chicken.. This time I added a can of habanero Rotel and it turned out awesome in tacos… Just add rice, avocado and any order toppings you desire.

    • Also I was at a Food4Less in the burbs a few weeks ago (don’t recall which.. Out near Bolingbrook as we stopped in before heading to iPic) and they had these clearances out for $1.66 each. Had no coupons with me but bought several anyway.

      • It’s the only F4L in this area, on Rte 53 in Bolingbrook (they call it Bolingbrook Road down there) – the Walmart Supercenter is only a couple of blocks north, so a great stock up road trip.
