Zaycon has dropped the price on their 93/7 ground beef to $3.99 lb and the boneless, skinless chicken breasts (fresh, never frozen) have dropped to $1.69 lb. New is the wild-caught sockeye salmon for only $6.99 a pound. While you can find salmon on sale for less (Jewel has a $5.99 3-day), the Zaycon salmon fillets are individually flash-frozen and vacuum-sealed – worth paying the extra buck imo! You have to register to purchase anything, so why not do it now, when you’re not rapidly approaching the deadline. Many of the Events have already sold out on ground beef, chicken, beef paties, bacon…or other offerings.

Order ASAP so you don’t miss out on your case of fresh, all-natural, boneless and skinless chicken breasts. If you haven’t even registered, move on it! And if you’ve never tried Zaycon chicken before, you’ll be amazed at the freshness. Event cut-offs are always the day before, to allow time to load the various trucks – don’t wait until the last minute (I did, the first year, and lost out). Zaycon’s Sausage & Bacon Event is coming up in early March (Chicago area). Their pork sausage links are fresh (uncooked), frozen and come 20 lbs per order ($2.79/lb); the hickory-smoked bacon is medium-sliced and comes 36 lbs per order ($3.49/lb). These are the same prices charged during their October 2013 Event. Never tried their sausage, but the bacon is excellent!

Zaycon’s Sausage & Bacon Event is rapidly approaching (March 10th & 11th around Chicagoland area) – the pork sausage links are fresh (uncooked) and frozen and come 20 lbs per order ($2.79/lb); the bacon is hickory-smoked and medium-sliced and comes 36 lbs per order ($3.49/lb). These are the same prices charged during the October 2013 Event. Never had the sausage, but the bacon is excellent!

You have to be registered before you can see any upcoming Zaycon Events, but registering and ordering are completely separate – register now and get it out of the way! You won’t get spammed, either.

PSA – Zaycon chicken event weather alert

We want to assure you that if your event is in any way impacted by weather, be it delayed, rescheduled, or otherwise affected, we will do our very best to contact you with as much advance notice as possible. So please make sure to check your email and text messages in the run-up to your event!

We also want to make sure you all know that you will not be held responsible for the effects any weather issues have on your orders. Should your event be re-scheduled to a time/date during which you cannot participate, your order will be refunded. The same is of course true in the unlikely event of a cancellation.

So if you’ve been on the fence about the upcoming Zaycon Chicken Event on February 1st (most Chicagoland locations), Hakuna Matata!

I noticed signs on the cooler/freezer doors at Target yesterday, stating that their chicken is born, raised and processed in the United States. Sad that we’ve come to this with our food (but good for Target).

Zaycon cancels June Chicken Event

Zaycon’s February Chicken Event in the Chicagoland area is rapidly approaching – for those of you who were planning on waiting until the June event…bad news, as follows:

As you may know, we are not a “normal” food company. We actually want to get the best prices for our families and we rely on projected national prices to get them. Unfortunately for all of us, the projected prices for chicken this summer have gone up considerably. We blame elevated self-esteem among the chickens for this…but we could be wrong.

So, we are staying true to our mission and NOT DELIVERING HIGH PRICED CHICKEN IN JUNE. Instead, we will be moving our summer chicken sale back to the Fall, when we can secure better pricing for you.

The boneless, skinless chicken breasts are available to purchase now for delivery in February for $1.89 lb. (40 pound boxes). If you know anything about the Zaycon Chicken Event…at that price, they’ll sell out and you’ll be SOL until Fall.

You can’t compare Zaycon chicken to any grocery store chicken. I’d be willing to pay more for fresh chicken but with Zaycon I pay less!
