Wags 8/21-22 Degree DD

Update:  dumbass forgot to say that you could use your Pert or Revlon $3 RRs to bring down your OOP and to roll them for another week.  i’m so shamed…

Degree deodorant will be on sale 2/$4, with a $1 RR.  If you are still holding Degree coupons and you want to run this…..Buy four Degree for $8.  Hand over four of the $1 coupons and you’re at $4.  The national catalina prints out $4 and you get the additional $1RR, a slight MM after high tax.  Note that the national catalina promotion is scheduled to end on the 22nd (according to the Catalina site, although I’ve read 9/04 on other sites).

Conversely, you could just buy the puny Degrees, using the $1 coupons and then pay the high tax.  You won’t have to run separate transactions, just one big one. It’s a judgment call.

While I would definitely not buy coupons for this, those of you holding large quantities might want to place orders with your local Wags.  If using the Lisle Wags, you MUST call before 11 am tomorrow (Thursday) as that is their order deadline.   Wheaton’s deadline has already passed.

Wags and Dominicks

Wiped out Wheaton of most of their overstock Revlon nail polish and then rolled that $3 RR into the Pert Plus using a box of .20 gelatin as a filler.   The Pert/gelatin transactions ran .53 each – not too shabby.

Here’s a funny story (to me) which is probably giving Steve nightmares:  I’m at cosmetics, checking out the Pert/gelatin, having already filled a box with the Revlon – lots in the cart.  Older women walks over and sees the shampoo and nail polish and says, “Oh, that’s right, I need some nail polish.”  Turns out that none of the colors on the shelf appealed to her, so she shopped from my cart!  Two bottles of Pert at $1.50 each and eight bottles of nail polish at .50 each.  She pays $7 and then another woman walks up and buys two bottles of Revlon!  I told Steve I was gonna set up a Wags outlet in the parking lot.  He asked that I please move it to the bank lot across the street…

Went across the street to the Danada Square Dominicks, where I grabbed the last six boxes of Gain powder and twelve bottles of Gain dish soap – each transaction came to (after coupons and $3 cat from prior order) $2.63.

whew, i’m bushed…

Wags PSA

Just got a call from Wheaton:  their shipment today will contain about 500 of the small Degree deodorants for those of you looking to at least use up the coupons you have.  Even without being a MM, it’s still free.  They will have at least 150 of the Pert Light shampoos in this delivery – unable to determine how many, if any, of the medium type.  I think this is because many Wags only tagged the medium and not the light, even though both were working, so the warehouse might have run out of medium.  At least we get something to roll those Revlon cats into, right?

The delivery trucks probably won’t arrive before mid-afternoon, and it will take quite a few hours to unload the totes – please call either late tonight or early tomorrow with your request.  that is all.  we now return to our regularly-scheduled posts.

Wags

My web ham order was ready a day early, so headed on over to the Glen Ellyn store (I was at MUM Mahal anyway) and picked up the three lonely Pert shampoos sitting on the shelf.  I used the $1 coupon with the $3 RR from Revlon and a .20 box of gelatin as filler.  The Oral-B complete toothbrushes are on sale 2/$6 with a $3 RR, but you’re actually getting a $3 and a $2 and I had $2.50/1 coupons from a dental office.  So, those three items on the same receipt totaled $2.01;  I got back a $3 RR and $2 RR for the Oral-B and a $3 for the Pert.  btw, Wheaton is expecting a total of 300 Pert in Tuesday’s delivery:  150 light and 150 medium.

Time to start stalking dentists…

Oddball wags deal

There’s something strange about apocalypse stockpiling, but if you’re really into the Celebrity boneless cooked hams they sell at Wags, have I got a deal for you.

They’re currently on sale for $2.29 (reg. $4.29) limit 3.  However, you can buy them online with no limit and free shipping over $25, so run it like this:  buy 12, pay $27.48 plus tax and a slight surcharge for excess weight and either have it sent to your home or do that pick up at Wags deal and use the $5 off your $20 web pickup order.  Obviously, that’s the way I’m gonna run this.

OK, finished up.  My 12 cans of Celebrity ham came to $25.02 delivered to the store or $2.085 each can.  Make sure to check the store and the price before you commit to this.  My first run through was using the Wheaton store on Naper Blvd and the price was over $4 a can!  Switched to the store on Roosevelt & Lambert for the $2.29 price.  Which is great because I can pick up some of those organic greens…Oh, wait, I forgot to post this…crap.  here you go:  OrganicGirl $2 coupon; $3.69 each 5 oz clamshell at this Wags.  They carry three varieties.

thanks to sd for this tip

Wags warehouse called…they want stock

Don’t bother shopping Lisle for a while…Wags is running that 4/$15 on the Dove products.  Only a few were tagged, but they are all part of it.  I ran these in sets of four, using two BOGO coupons from 7/31RP (buy one treatment, get one shampoo or conditioner free).  I rolled the $4 RR from Degree and ended up paying $3.11 for each set of four (high tax), then got back a $5 RR.

Since these are Unilever coupons, the register only counted them as two coupons (P&G would see them as four and you’d need a filler).

Now, the BOGO part of the coupon goes up to $6, so the $4.49 isn’t a problem, but some stores are telling people that they will only take off the $3.75 ($15/4) or even $1.53!  If you are dealing with looney-tunes stores, get the hell out of Dodge!

Decided to earn a few more RRs (they owe me for the Degree, right?) and picked up the Revlon nail polish I posted about earlier.  This time I left some on the shelf…  Think of making party favors or baskets for upcoming birthday or slumber parties – and they would be nice for the girls, too.

Wags updates

Good news and bad news on the Huggies wipes refills homefront:

Even though the .50 mfr coupon expired yesterday, there is another one .50 one in the 8/14 RP with a 9/10 exp date, the IVC goes through the end of August and the Infant Care codes are all good through 12/31.  No product has come in from the warehouse, but we now have a few more weeks to wait for delivery.  And I hope you all got rain checks.

The IP on the Advil is beeping on the Children’s and Infant Drops items, even though the coupon clearly states for any Advil product.  Our Wags have no problems pushing them through, but just a heads up in case you’re shopping at a non-coupon friendly location.  If you have coupon Nazis to deal with, use the $5/3 coupon in today’s RP stacked with the Infant Care Booklet code 5520.  Your cost for the Children’s Advil will be higher (about $1.99 each when you buy four), but no beeping – your call.  Note that none of the 8/14 insert coupons work on the infant drops.

The Expo dry erase markers will only be free if the mfr coupons are marked down to $1.98 each (instead of $2) before the IVC is scanned.  Otherwise you’ll get $9 from the IVC instead of the $12 you should get.

The Revlon nail polishes shown will all give you overage; this selection includes regular and scented polishes, but not nail treatment or fast-drying lines.  $3.99 less the $2 Wags coupon from 7/24S and $1 mfr from 7/17S or 8/14S.   Spend .99 + high tax and get back a $3 RR.  Get ’em while they’re hot, guys.

ShopAtHome

Nothing FREE, but maybe something we can work with.  A Wild Deal today is up to 8% cash back on Walgreens purchases.  The link takes you to the Wags home page, with the buy online and pick up at the store showing…If you see something you’re interested in AND have a coupon for AND spend $25 before said coupon(s)…you will be getting free shipping, use of your coupons and an up to 8% bounty rebated into your ShopAtHome account.

Wags Degree MM – DEAD! – update

I was just talking to Lisle Wags.  Apparently the manager ordered 1200 of these Degrees for delivery Saturday (Wheaton is getting 500, but not sure if the 1200 includes their’s).  The big problem is that Steve can return his and claim a mistake in ordering or something since his store has been open for less than a year (Even though he only moved to the new store across the street, it’s still considered new).  Katrina can’t because Lisle is not a new store and she can’t transfer products inter-store to Steve because they have all the stickers showing the store number on them.

We can’t be certain that all the ordered stock will arrive, but if you are planning on stocking up on these at all, please give Lisle a call.  I hate when a store gets stuck with product they can never in a million years use.

The Degree deal is officially dead.  Checked using both women’s and men’s and no cats were generated.  An odd note here:  Wheaton actually called Catalina before placing the order, to confirm that the small size UPCs were part of the promotion – they were.  While this is no longer a MM, those of you wanting to stock up on a decent deodorant or make a pantry or shelter donation can still get it for free.  You would be paying about .41 tax for five .5 products, which equals one full size.  Again, this isn’t too bad a deal.

Coupons? PSA

I haven’t gotten back confirmations about dropping off a stack of inserts at the Lisle Library for people to clip the Huggies coupons, so please comment and let me know if there’s still any interest.  Remember, the $5.99 sale ends Saturday.  Since it’s not a RR, it doesn’t matter if the wipes are in stock or not.  Buy a buttload of them and use up the last of your Cottonelle $3.50 RRs, since you’re only running the one transaction.
