Edit: Just checked over the Sizzlin’ Hot deals ’cause FirstBorn is planning a Jewel trip…who the hell is gonna buy JoJo’s Monster Cookies, no matter how cheap ($1.99)? Might as well call them mutant cookies, imho.

In this week’s Jewel ad is the advance notice of the Saturday Sampler, a 1L bottle of Smartwater.  I’ll grab this because it’s the one I use and refill all week at COD – it’s the only size that easily fits in my front cup holder 🙂  I’ll post with the link on Saturday, but you know the drill by now.

Excuse the pun 🙂  I’m looking for a few pounds of Jewel pub burgers, which I wrap individually and freeze – perfect way to keep a handle on waste.  I stopped getting farm lot eggs a few years ago after watching 187k hours of food quality YouTube videos.  Wow, has it already been almost three years since lockdown?  Don’t like the cookies and thankfully don’t need water bottles.  I like their mixed veggies, but don’t know if they’re included and I have several boxes full of the large Muir Glen diced tomatoes from Dollar Tree.

They HAVE to give us these this week because they were both in the Wednesday ad.  I’ve taken and use Violife products before and they’re not half bad!  That’s not a slam, because I’m a cheese whore.

Just wanted to see if the clearance cart was out – certainly wasn’t going to drive to Jewel for a small yogurt :). Grabbed nine coupons and nine teas, making my total (added 12 cans of evaporated milk, fish sauce & oyster sauce and four boxes of Muesli) only $16.91.

I haven’t been posting – or following! – Jewel sales in quite some time because, let’s face it, Jewel prices pretty much suck donkey balls.  If it weren’t for clearance deals and Manager’s Specials, I’d be earning very few Rewards (well, except for FirstBorn’s weekly crap buys). This week has 29¢ Supreme tamales (limit 5) and Ronzoni pasta (limit 5).  I admit to a deep love of those frozen tamales, but after a year of lockdown Youtube cooking videos, have switched almost entirely to Product of Italy pasta – stock up on deep sales and clearance and it’s usually cheap.  If you have no preference, then this is a great pasta deal, so use all your accounts and stock up 🙂

Probably grab some blood oranges and bok choy varieties for .88/lb just for novelty’s sake.  If you like grapefruit, the 5lb bags are $3.99 while loose ones are .88/lb – a tiny savings.  Probably also pick up some limes, since I was reading chef tips that whole lemons and limes freeze well when they’re thawed later at room temperature.  Taylor Farms salad kits are BOGO again this week at Amazon Fresh and they make a lovely stir fry (add extra bok choy or napa cabbage and it’s customized!).  Eggs, milk and half and half are definitely Aldi or Amazon Fresh purchases (well, my store is usually out of Lucerne half gallons anyway).
