Out and about shopping

The Fiora paper towel single rolls at Jewel have dropped from $1.29 to 10/$10 through July 6.  Use the $1 coupon from 5/4 rp to get FREE paper towels!  I picked up 60 and paid $4.35 (this is high tax stuff, folks; your rate might be even higher).  Too boring to take a picture of, frankly, so here’s a picture of something I picked up at Walgreens – Banana Boat sunscreen.  It’s BOGO this week on the spray cans (not bottles), and most of the products have $2 hangtags on them.  Depending on which ones you choose (the higher the SPF, the more you pay), you could be paying about $4 a can after tax for the bonus sizes.  While it’s not the cheapest I’ve ever seen, it’s much better than paying almost $12 a can for the regular sizes!

The Clorox Touch-Up deal is totally messed up – I not only didn’t get the $2 RR shown in the ad, I didn’t get squat!  Tried it two times, with four products each, figuring if the $2RR wasn’t generating, maybe I’d trigger the same National catalina as on Monday ($1 RR when you buy 2, $2 with 3 and $3 with 4), but I got zip, so returned everything.  Store checked online to see if there had been any update to the information posted on Monday but that info has been taken down!  I’m not touching this one (no pun intended) until Friday or Saturday.

Cheap paper towels & an unadvertised body wash deal

photo 1.JPG Don’t particularly like paying for paper towels and thankfully I’m stocked up right now, but bought this roll at Jewel earlier today just, you know, cause… The Fiora single roll (which is next to and looks remarkably similar to the Bounty Basic roll) is $1.29.  Use the $1 coupon from 5/4 rp for cheap paper towels.  Not a sale, so no urgency; expiration date is 6/30.

photo 2.JPG Picked up a few more boxes of Swiffer wipes and tried this unadvertised Dial bodywash deal: Buy any 3 Dial body washes and get a $5 Target gift card.  While the men’s wash was a buck cheaper, we still have tons of Old Spice and Gillette and Irish Spring…you get the point.  These bottles are $3.99 less this $1 Dial bodywash printable; pay $8.97 and get a $5 gift card, so $1.32 each for the girly stuff.

Wags & Jewel – – cause free is good

photo 1.JPGRight now Walgreens has the Bayer aspirin products on a B1G1 50% off sale (although my store did not have shelf tags on these products). Buy two low-dose chewables for $3.39 + $1.69, use two $1.50 coupons from 5/4 S (says 20 ct or higher) with the $1 Bayer coupon in the May IVC (which takes off $1 on each) and you’ll pay pennies plus low tax. I picked up these eight boxes for 32¢ plus low tax.  Remember, prices at Walgreens even a few of miles away differ quite a bit…you may be able to score them for free!

First Wet n Wild and now Sweet Baby Ray – – nice to be able to shop at my Jewel again! The new ad has Sweet Baby Ray dipping sauce, barbecue sauce and marinades on sale $1.50 or 4/$4. The 5/18 S has a $1 off the dipping sauce, so that’s the puppy to choose if you’re looking for free. Note that only two of the four varieties are part of the sale – the other two are being clearanced out. Check with your store director and see if he or she will swap out some clearance ones (hey, you’re doing them a favor by freeing up valuable shelf space, right?).  And also something to check:  When they say 4/$4, they don’t mean anything over four gets the same price – – that discount only comes off with each set of four.

Jewel & mm makeup

This week Osco has the Wet n Wild makeup at 25% off – I checked and they not only have the usual suspects, i.e., nail polish and liners, but individual eye shadows!  And they’re all marked at 74¢!  Grab those $1 coupons from the 5/4 rp and use the overage to reduce whatever you might have in your cart.  This coupon appeared in ALL my inserts, including Hoy (yeah!!!!!).

If you’re planning on a large purchase, make sure you talk with the Osco director first.

more Jewel clearance

And the cool thing is that I only stopped in to Jewel to post-redeem my k-cup and Mrs. Smith pie coupons (it saddens me, but hey, there aren’t any deals at Jewel) and decided to check out the clearance carts. The Fisher cheddar almonds were marked $2 and I’ll return with my $1 coupon from 3/9 SS. Better Oats were 75¢ – no coupon out at present – but I have 60 days to hope.  I mean, 75¢?  Do I look rich?  But PITA has two pouches every morning for breakfast, so if I have to pay…sigh

Alexia brand clearance deals at Jewel

Photo.jpg

Check your Jewel freezers for clearance deals on Alexia products, too.  I missed out on the onion rings (shelf tag taunted me), but grabbed two bags of these sweet potato fries for $2.48 each.  I’ll return with the 55¢ coupons from 4/6 SS…wait, you didn’t think i’d pay retail, did you?

And remember, you can always return to Jewel within 60 days with your coupons and receipts and post-redeem, which is what I do most of the time when I see a great price/deal.  Use the Find a Coupon tab at the top of the page just like I do.

Belated pi(e) day @ Jewel

Lots of Mrs. Smith pies in the clearance freezer end cap at the Lisle Jewel – pumpkin pie was only $2.48, while cherry and two apple varieties were $3.48. Use the $1 coupon from 4/13 S (cover says Healthy Essentials – ’cause pie is essential, right?) to get them even cheaper!

Jewel: McCormick Recipe Inspirations alllllmost free

Photo.jpg

Remember when these Recipe Inspirations contained enough to inspire? They’ve dropped a couple of dress sizes (from a six to a 3), are on sale at Jewel for 79¢ AND you get a game piece for each one.  Use the 75¢ McCormick spice coupon from the 4/6 rp (inside front cover) and pay 4¢.  I used to get their big brothers for free…

New Jewel Big Book of Savings & cheap liquids

Photo.jpg

Someone had asked about a deal on the Aquafina flavorsplash drinks – had read something on MUM…I checked both the weekly ad and the new Big Book of Savings (ha!) and found nothing, but stopped at Jewel justincase.

No shelf tags, but I grabbed two anyway and had them scanned:  each range at 50¢.  Use the BOGO coupon from 1/26 S (we had two inserts in Chicago that week, so check both) and get them for 25¢ each. Three varieties were berry loco, peelin’ good and color me kiwi.  These are only 16.9 oz bottles, but I’ll refill them cause they’ll fit in a car’s cup holders and the 1L bottles won’t.

$1 Post printable has reset

18183086Target also has a coupon for $1 off Post dry cereal (this has not reset, so if you printed it earlier, you’re SOL), which has the Honey Bunches of Oats Energy variety on a temporary price cut to $2.55 a box through 4/5 (this has been the same price at every Target I’ve visited, but apparently I live a charmed life). Use this $1 Post printable and pay 55¢ (If you don’t see it as the first coupon, change zip to 77477.  If you use your REDcard you’ll save 5%.  Jewel will have this on sale 2/$5 starting tomorrow, but if you are collecting as many Target gift cards as I am, much better at Target!   and yes, i know i can combine them into one card, but i was over $100 earlier today!
