100% legit shopping! who knew…

photo.JPGAnd who says you can’t save nowadays! You see here TWO transactions of Finish, Bayer, 10 Starbucks ($1 printables), Alka-Seltzer and BIC razors (BOGO coupons). I made sure to get up to $50 so I could use the $5/$50 Jewel coupon that reappeared on the last page of the Jewel ad on the Retale.com APP.  You can print from your phone/iPad or send it to an email.

Total OOP for both transactions was just under $10 (mostly high tax).

Bayerly Jewel shopping in the bitter cold

photo.JPGIf you’re looking for a way to play the Bayer coupon, this transaction involved two Bayer coupons (6 Bayer chewables), two $2.15 Finish coupons (two boxes) and one $1 Alka-Seltzer coupon (6 ct packets).  OOP was $1.49, of which 78¢ was tax.

Lisle has sizable quantities of both Finish and Bayer, so stop on over if you don’t find it at your local store.

Thank you Bayer shopping

I should point out that I have been unable to find any Bayer chewable 36 ct aspirin in any Walmarts – you know, the $2.17 ones that provide the most overage using the $10/3 coupon in the 1/4 S.  So I regrouped…
photo 1.JPG
to Target, for the B2G1 Finish deal. Unfortunately, the $2.99 price being quoted in the blog-o-sphere appears to be pie in the sky pricing. However, when you combine $3.99 Finish with Bayer chewable aspirin ($2.19 each), you are looking at a much better scenario. I bought six Finish, used 4 $2.15 coupon (1/4 S), bought six Bayer, used two $10 coupons, and a quart of half & half and paid $3.99 (remember, Finish is high tax). Finish coupon is limited to 2, but I didn’t catch that.  Which is not to say I would have followed it anyway, but I was bad inadvertently…

Then I decided to check out Jewel – she shoots and scores! – where Bayer was only $2.29! And Jewel’s coupon policy allows for overage on your cart items. I bought nine Bayer, a gallon of organic milk, fancy napkins and tortillas. OOP was $3.09.  There is a new $1 Wild Harvest coupon, which I will post-redeem.  It’s a Bricks coupon, so if you have issues…

Starting on Wednesday, Jewel will have 12-20ct Finish on sale for $2.99. 70¢ Finish is a great price after the coupon, but toss in the Bayer and it’s back up the truck time, folks!

Jewel & Staples shopping

photo 2.JPGFYI, the water goes up to 3/$10 with tomorrow’s ad – good if you’re  buying the larger Nestle water bottle multipaks, but not so good if you’re picking up the junior ones!  Lisle still has about 24 cases of the juniors on the floor, so if you haven’t been able to grab any, head on over.  While you’re there, you might want to stock up on Carl Buddig Premium Deli meats, which are BOGO through January 6th.  Use two 75¢ coupons from 11/02 S or 12/7 S and you’ll pay only 50¢ a pack!  Jewel’s coupon policy allows both coupons, but the cashier has to manually enter in the second one.

photo 1.JPGStaples has these Iris 54 qt totes with latching handles for $5 (save $9) on the front page of the current ad. Use this $5/$25 Staples coupon and pay only $4 each. These are nice and sturdy. While you’re there, price match the Office Max Sharpie marker deal and walk out with two free packs of markers!

Update: Nestle 24 pk water @ Jewel – now with coupons!

16149719492_e1513c41e1There’s a $1/2 printable on Nestle’s website: Play the Start the Year Off Right sweepstakes for a chance to win water for a year (among other prizes). Even when you lose (notice I didn’t say if), you get the option of printing out a $1/2 coupon two times. This is a Bricks coupon, which some people have difficulty printing.  Says you can enter once a day, but I don’t know if you can also print out a coupon – – which would be totally sweet!

Buy 24 pks of Nestle juniors size water; they’re ringing up at $1.99 (shelf tag reads $4.29) which is a sweet deal to begin with – but – buy four and you’ll get a $5 catalina!  Some packs also have $1/2 peelies, which brings your OOP even lower!  The terms of this national catalina promotion are Buy 2 get $1, Buy 3 get $3 and Buy 4+ get $5.  It runs through 1/25/15.

Without coupons you will pay $3.10 for transactions 2 and beyond; your first one will be $8.10.

I’d read that the larger size bottles were also ringing up at $1.99, but I tried ALL larger size bottle multipaks and all rang at $4.29.  You’d still get the cat, but why bother?

Water under a buck for 24 pk @ Jewel

photo.JPGJust got back from Jewel after stock-up shopping (check your clearance section, too, ’cause Holiday foods are appearing):  Buy 24 pks of Nestle juniors size water; they’re ringing up at $1.99 (shelf tag reads $4.29) which is a sweet deal to begin with – but – buy four and you’ll get a $5 catalina!  Some packs also have $1/2 peelies, which brings your OOP even lower!

Without coupons you will pay $3.10 for transactions 2 and beyond; your first one will be $8.10.

clearance meat & end-of-the-year shopping

photo.JPGThe end of the year, which means that I have lots and lots of FREEBIE coupons expiring – there’s nothing sadder than an expired coupon, is there?

This receipt totaled over $230, but that included many, many packages of clearanced pork chops and country ribs, six bottles of uber-expensive Nature Made vitamins, a 12-pk of Diet Coke and more.  After-coupon total was $39.  Earned 23 stamps.

The Saver Stamps & I’m not that clean 2fer tour!

photo.JPGWould have run the Walgreens deals earlier…but that would have required actually getting dressed and leaving the house before 3…oh, like you don’t do the same.

Walgreens has their Well Beginnings line of diapers and wipes BOGO this week.  They’re also selling for $1.99 for each pack of wipes, plus you get 1,000 points for each pack!  If you consider points money (I don’t), you’ll be paying tax.  I’ve also seen a lot of the diapers on the clearance end caps for about $6, which might make for some really cheap diapers.  I’m accumulating points for the next RR/points roll (if ever there should be one).  The tubs are the same $1.99, but I like the refill green tea & cucumber or shea butter scents and since I use them on hardwood floors and furniture, that’s what I took.

Stopped at Jewel and found a bunch of Vidal Sassoon conditioners and gel on clearance – conditioner was $2.69 (gel was less).  There’s a $2 coupon in today’s redplum, so I’ll post-redeem tomorrow.  The stuffed chicken breasts were not only BOGO, they all had $2 stickers on them!  And yes, you get the benefit of all stickers on a deal like this.  Much less than a buck for each pack.

credit to MUM – see?  I can be nice 🙂  don’t whine.

Saver Stamps are ruining my nails…

photo.JPGthink they’ll give me a free manicure?  Ran into a P&G promotion at one Jewel where you’d spin the wheel and get “prizes” of teeny-tiny bottles of Crest mouthwash, a deodorant, other stuff…I got the teeny mouthwash – – and two booklets of very good P&G coupons ($1 Febreze products) that don’t expire until 2/28/2015!

Jewel shopping: very cheap Febreze spray

photo.JPGFebreze Air Effects are $2.50. Spend $30 on P&G and get a $5 catalina plus a free movie ticket voucher. An unexpected bonus is the $1.50 catalina that prints for every two cans you buy! Use the $3/3 Febreze coupon from the December P&G and you’ll be spending $4 plus high tax for each set of 12!
