Introducing our $100 giveaway winner!

Suzanne lives in Chicago, in a CVS wasteland.  Poor thing…  She plans to build up a stockpile of items for two charities:  Ronald McDonald House and Animal Welfare League. One thing that was on both organizations want list was soap  – – hope they like Ivory!  She’ll be providing pictures of her deals so we can drool along with her.  Good luck and may the couponing gods be with you…

$100 Giveaway – 3rd time the charm?

Uncle Ben is looking for a place to crash

Okay, the two previous names drawn both encountered unexpectedly heavy workweeks, so they declined the challenge.  I will open the giveaway challenge again – but only through this evening at 8 pm – to anyone willing to take Uncle Ben and stretch him like Mister Fantastic in pursuit of truth, justice and the best deals possible, with the results donated to the charity or charities of your choice.  See the entire history of this bill here in an earlier post.

Okay, our winner has accepted – can’t wait to see the deals she’ll find!
I formally agree to accept $100 to be disbursed to charity of my choice and accept the challange of seeing how far I can stretch the $100 to obtain the most for the money.

$100 giveaway winner…again

Okay, once again I’ve chosen a name – let’s hope this one pans out.  Suzanne, who is dreaming about Ronald McDonald…or something like that.  I’ve sent you an email.

New winner of $100 challenge

Well, I gave Carrie more than 24 hours to respond – you don’t write, you don’t call, you…oh, wait, that’s another post.  So now I’ve got another name to annouce:  Beth, who was so concerned about the woman at Walgreens.  I’ve sent you an email, so please check your inbox; you have until Thursday evening to respond, otherwise another name will be selected.

The above challenge, should you choose to accept it, will start when the cash gets transferred (sorry, but this precludes out-of-town readers).  You will have ten days from that time to see how large a stockpile you can amass using sales/cats/coupons/ecbs/$$$.  Pictures must be submitted, either of the final pile or (what I’d like to see) as it’s growing with every deal.  You are free to donate to whatever charity – individual or organization – you choose.  I’m giving ten days because sometimes Wags and CVS and grocery stores have sucky deals one week, but the next week blows you away.  we’ve all experienced this!

Ur Uncle Ben is coming for a visit – the $100 drawing

Okay, been out with family most of the day, but here’s the winner of the $100 giveaway:  Carrie, who said:  “Something tells me $100 used + coupons will go a lot further than just the $100 as a gift card.”  Well, Carrie, if you accept this challenge, you’ll be the one proving that statement!  I’ve sent you an email, so please check your inbox; you have until Wednesday evening to respond, otherwise another name will be selected.

U no ur old…update

Okay, got a brilliant idea from Rachel about how to handle this:  Give the $100 to a reader and their challenge will be to see how far they can stretch it with coupons and how much they can get together to donate within x amount of time, their choice.

Comment if you’d like to enter this contest, that’s all.  Contest will be open for entries through Tuesday evening at 8:30 pm.  Winner will be announced that same evening and he/she will have until Wednesday night to respond or another name will be selected by the Random Number Generator.

So here’s our revised scenario:  The above challenge, should you choose to accept it, will start when the cash gets transferred (sorry, but this precludes out-of-town readers).

On the other people needing help, I think I’m gonna hit up the Lisle Wags this Sunday and see if I can’t browbeat the woman into taking some of these women’s Depends I’ve got tons of…  And if we can get more information about the woman with three teenage boys, like phone, suburb, etc., I’m sure we can all fill up her pantry.  ’cause if it’s one thing we all have in plenty, it’s junk food.  And body wash.  And hair styling products.   And deodorant.  And if there’s a teenage boy out there who doesn’t eat junk food – he’s an alien and should be sent back to Mars.

Dreamfields coupons winner

And the winner of the ten $1 Dreamfields pasta coupons is momofgirls.

Maybe I can score more coupons like my last big haul of 100!  (and don’t forget, BlogHer 2012 in coming up in less than two months…lots of stuff to give away!).

$1 Dreamfields coupons giveaway

Announcing another coupon giveaway:  10 $1 Dreamfields Pasta coupons and recipe/nutritional information brochure to one lucky winner.  If you’ve never tried this pasta, you will not believe it’s low-carb.  Seriously!  Comment below up until Tuesday 5 pm.  I will post as a sticky, but only through Sunday night.

Last time Dominicks had these on sale, the price dropped to 49¢ a box, which is unbelievable for low-carb pasta.  If you’ve never before eaten Dreamfields, check out prior posts (just search for Dreamfields) and see readers’ comments.  Stuff is awesome.

Matter of fact, I just brought up two boxes from the basement to cook today:  part for a cold salad with Greek olives, etc. and the other part for a quick reheated lunch/dinner with olive oil infused with garlic (I make the oil) and cheese.

BP fuel discount promotion

I’m reposting this from last week because…well, you could win cheap gasoline!  and what more reason do you need?

Interesting email from BP:

With summer starting and vacations on many Chicagoans’ radars, I’d like to provide your readers a chance to save some money on fuel as they plan their travels. To celebrate Chicago baseball, BP is giving away 45,000 gasoline discounts from now until a June 21st drawing.  Your Illinois-area readers can register every day from now until then to improve their odds at winning discounted fuel. If selected, they will be notified via email with a unique CPG discount code that is good for one use for up to 20 gallons.

To register, your readers can go to http://www.bpcrosstowncup.com.

Well, dayum, folks, sign me up!  I’m still on the Mobil Speedpass .15 per gallon rebate for another couple of weeks, then I switch to the Shell gas cards I got from CVS.  If I could swing some almost-free BP gas, well, that would be a three-peat, wouldn’t it?  Okay, I just signed up.  It first asks for DOB, then your name, address, phone and email.  You do not need to accept promotional emails.
