Dollar Tree today and musings on missing inserts

I first have to say that I’m getting majorly pissed with the Chicago Tribune’s lack of professionalism when it comes to coupon inserts. Of ten papers from Dollar Tree, TEN were missing one of the red plums, while THREE were also missing the other red plum. These are bundled papers, which means I henceforth will have to check each and every friggin’ paper for the correct number of inserts. And again I ask: Why can’t I ever get extra COUPON inserts instead of multiples of sales ads?

photo.JPGThis picture should be captioned “The Dark Side of Photos!” Been running around most of the day, scoring whatever freebies and moneymakers I can – – been pretty successful, too! Dollar Tree (several of them so far) has the South Beach bars back in stock! Use the $1 coupon from 1/4 S2 (EXP 2/15) for the Snack Bars. While they have lots of the Good-To-Go bars, the coupon will not scan for this product. And do you really want to have a non-scanning coupon at Dollar Tree??? Even if you don’t like/use this product, it’s low tax and a great food pantry donation.

Don’t forget to grab your FREE Tabasco sauce at Walmart. Don’t like or use Tabasco sauce? Again, low tax and excellent donation item. The tax write-off ain’t bad, either!
photo.JPGVO5 men’s body wash! Use the 50/2 coupon from 1/25S for cheap body wash…tide you over until the next round of freebies.

Dollar Tree shopping

photo.JPGNot all Dollar Trees carry the same merchandise – often stores within blocks of one another will be different! Having said that, I found the L’Oreal at two Dollar Trees and the Lime-a-Way at a different store! Use the $2 Preference coupon from the 1/11 rp and this $2 L’Oreal Preference printable; Dollar Tree allows four LIKE coupons. The 1/11 rp insert also contains a $5/2 coupon but the coupon makes a loud noise and won’t be accepted by the register so don’t even bother (tried it at a couple stores), whereas the $2 coupon automatically scans and adjusts down to $1. Use the 50¢ Lime-A-Way coupon from 1/043 S1 and pay only 50¢.

More Dollar Tree L’Oreal!

photo (1)Rachel and I walked the aisles of another Dollar Tree this afternoon and lookie what they had – not only the L’Oreal Feria variety, but also this Preference Ombre Touch!  Lots of Infusium 23, but alas, the coupon expired 12/31.  ain’t that always the way…

L’Oreal @ Dollar Tree

Dt omg!!!Yes, that’s right – grab L’Oreal hair color for only one buck! I make it a point to check Dollar Tree at least once a week because it’s amazing what turns up! I found a few $1 Reach coupons in my coupon stash and used them for dental floss. These were sheets of coupons I picked up at my dentist’s office. I mean, do we really need small tubes of toothpaste and toothbrushes? Puhleez – hand over those high-value coupons!!!

Dollar Tree – PediaCare is baaaack!

photo.JPGPediaCare is BACK! Those of you who weren’t able to use up your coupons earlier should check your local Dollar Tree for new PediaCare stock.  The $1 coupons are in the 9/7 S2 and expire November 1.  Guarantee they’ll be sold out before that date!

Also showing up is a Tylenol Extra Strength pack with individual pouches inside; use the $2.50/2 in 10/5 R2 for more free pain relief.  Note that DT coupon policy is to mark down the $2.50 coupon to $2 (I’ve heard of stores giving $2.50 when you use multiples, say 5 packs for two coupons, but that is not the official policy).

Secret deodorants!  Use the $.75 coupon from the October P&G for some very cheap deodorant.  The coupon excludes .05, but these are 1.7 oz, so perfectly okay.

Last week’s truck held Fleischmann’s Simply Homemade bread mixes.  If you can find any left in stock, use the $1 coupon from 9/14S for free bread!  Note that the EXP date is October 11, so don’t delay.

Dollar Tree & Jewel shopping today

photo.JPGFirst stop was Dollar Tree for more Advil PM – you only have until the 15th, so don’t delay.  Also found these little U by Kotex liners marked Thin – no mention of being a trial size (and wouldn’t 18 liners be a rather large trial size?) – so feel free to use the 50¢ coupon in 9/14 S.  Well, that is, if you actually need to pay for these!

photo.JPGMy DT Advil PM is on the top, but the rest is my last-sale-day shopping for Better Oats.  Currently 2/$4 (which is 1/2 price), this $1 off Better Oats oatmeal coupon makes it that much of a better deal.  And remember, you can post-redeem for up to 60 days at Jewel.

The Amy’s Stuffed Pasta Shells were $2 on clearance.  I’ll find a coupon, don’t worry!

PSA: Maybelline coupons expire 10/4

photo.JPGIf you’re holding on to any of the $1 Maybelline coupons (lip or nail) from 9/7 R2, best haul your butt over to DT and redeem them before 10/4.  I just ran a few transactions – gonna try one to see how it wears.  So far the Spoiled line by Wet n Wild is my favorite (OPI got shut out some time ago, think they changed their formulas).

Triaminic for freesies

photo.JPG 24 Triaminic for 42¢ tax at Dollar Tree.  Since they allow four like coupons, I used both the $4 and the $2 from the 9/21 SS.  No money back or overage, but each coupon bought multiples.

Sunday 9/20 inserts

Dollar Trees have been carrying Triaminic currently and in the past, so a great coupon to use there. Very high value, but only one friggin’ week date on the $4 one! gah And double gah for the same on the Theraflu coupon!

Speaking of Dollar Tree, here’s a display near the front register at the Naperville store.  I think there’s a 50¢ coupon in 8/17 rp.photo.JPG
