Okay, I’m just kidding here.  My mom got this and a little tube of toothpaste at Jewel for some promotion.  I see little toothpastes all the time, but I’ve never seen such a small dish soap!  Using the $50 bill as a size marker was her idea…and her fifty…

I know my number! …. Just got home from the Panda Express/Staples/Walmart/Jewel roundabout.  Actually, I went to Walmart two times because I came into another 25 coupones.  60+ boxes went to the food pantry, couple of cases went to MUM and the rest went into the basement stockpile.  Now I need to get a cat…only kidding!  I have two cats.  who better live longer than Smythe, who died at only 22 years of age.

I did end up getting a bunch of small bags of dog food, using coupons and the overage from Fiber Choice.  Got some LARGE butterfly pork chops using the $1 pork IP and overage.  Hey, they had a bunch of OPI polish on the Osco clearance cart – $1.99, which means 48¢ after overage.  And PITA found my favorite color in the world:  Big Apple Red!!! I think that is OPI’s most popular color still, so seeing it in the clearance cart was mind-blowing.  Maybe I should have stopped for a lottery ticket.

I wanted to get more tuna at Jewel because tomorrow’s ad has the Bumble Bee albacore for 3/$5, when it’s 88¢ today.  Are they serious?  I took one case of EE tuna from yesterday’s order and got rain checks for two cases of BB tuna and one of the EE.  These cases are really little, so don’t worry about needing massive amounts of storage – you could probably fit at least ten under a bed.

So I’m off for the night now ’cause I’m bushed.  Hope you all had a delicious dinner of shrimp.

And the nice thing about having a coupon cover the regular shelf price is that we can wait for stock to come in without worrying about sale dates.  This batch was from a regular Walmart.  Worst case scenario (and I mean this sincerely) is we keep hitting up Ultra..

Sorry for the complete lack of posts, but after PITA and I enjoyed out FREE panini thins at The Corner Bakery this morning, we had to head out for an entire afternoon of testing – her’s not mine (they gave up on me long ago).  Nothing wrong with her brain, other than the usual teenage angst, but this is some study that will take most of two days to run – – and I’m stuck in a room with no cell reception and no wi-fi.  what’s a blogger to do?

Well, now I’m back to annoy you until next Monday morning’s tests.   suck it up…  

Got a Trib renewal notice in the mail about a week ago – mind you, the Trib sends out individual bills for each subscription – this one was for two Sunday papers for 25¢ each a week.  You can bet your ass I took the maximum two year period on that one!

Couple of days ago I got three bills in the mail – all for one Sunday paper.  Two for 50¢ a week and one for $1.10.  Called over to Joe/Chuck/John/Frank … at the friendly customer service center in The Philippines.  Explained that I received three bills for the same one paper delivery and one was over twice the rate of the others.  He “explained” that the Trib was increasing their subscription rates and that was why the one was higher.  I pointed out that the bill I received the prior week was for half the 50¢ rate so how could that be?  He said they were increasing it just picking a few at a time(?).  I said that made no sense; why would I want to pay more than I would pay picking up the paper on Saturday at any of the dollar stores?  I said I wanted the same rate as the other papers.  He put me on hold and came back in a second and said he could lower my rate to $1 but that the lowest he could go.

I said to transfer me to whatever department deals with cancellations and he said he could handle that.  This is a change, because every time a similar situation has occurred, I’ve been transferred to a “cancellation department” which codes are discovered to reduce my rate.  Heck Tribune people, I don’t even want your dumb paper!  Just gimme the inserts and we’ll all do the happy dance!  He thought I’d cave over his swifty explanation – I didn’t so I’ll pick up an extra paper at a dollar store from now one.

And what really pisses me off about all this is that I pay for all those papers on Sunday, plus the Wednesday and Friday ones, too, yet for me to read 90% of the paper online, I’d have to pay for the premium subscription.
