Here’s a cool site that lets you see out someone else’s window – anywhere in the world – for as long as ten minutes. Change windows at any time – it’s all random. Click on Window-Swap and enjoy a true away-staycay! You don’t have to sign up or anything; you can submit a 10 minute view of your own window if you want. Just don’t make us too jealous.

Smart carts with coupon scanners!
The more modern and high-tech your grocery store gets, the more low-tech your paper coupons look in comparison. And sometimes the combination just doesn’t work – digital sensors, smartphones and mobile wallets simply aren’t all that compatible with old-school discounts printed on dead trees, which need to be packed up and shipped off to a sorting facility to be inspected by hand, like it’s 1960 or something.
But Amazon may be bridging that divide. To a certain extent. I’ve read parts of this story on other sites, but here’s a more complete article in Coupons in the News.
needed changes for Bed Bath & Beyond
Bed Bath & Beyond hasn’t been in the best of health in recent years. And once the coronavirus pandemic hit, it only got worse. Now the retailer is making some drastic changes in order to bounce back. But the company has become so closely identified with its famous 20% off coupons, that even as it announces a slew of store closures and its sales have gone over a cliff, all anyone wants to know is – are we still going to be able to use those coupons? Interesting Coupons in the News article about changes being demanded by the activist investors group that issues a massive report and got a new CEO.
my weird cat
Meep is a weird cat – that description probably applies to everyone in this household, but I digress. If you remember, Meep was the four-week old feral runt I rescued last September. He drank formula from a bottle and fit comfortably in my palm – a few months ago he was neutered, weighed 9+ pounds and is still growing. I think he’s part panther.
Meep does enjoy a weird diet, including snacking on dry dog kibble (although he might just do that to piss off the dogs) and now he’s discovered radishes! Seriously, radishes. I thought these radishes were getting bleached out, but then I picked one up and noticed they had all been nibbled on. Lots of them! Nothing toxic around here … or I’d feed it to my family.
more counterfeit coupon capers
Three Kentucky women are due in court tomorrow, and a fourth is in custody, in connection with what police are saying was a multi-state counterfeit coupon scam that netted the culprits more than $100,000 in merchandise from stores across the region. Here’s the Coupons in the News article, but seriously, if you do even simple math, these four didn’t make much money, considering the cost of those coupons, transportation expenses, the four-way split and the fact that they’re getting charged double the retail price when they resold at deep discounts.
iPhone Class Action Lawsuit
There’s a current class action lawsuit involving most older iPhones, so check out the list and see if your model qualifies. File online and choose direct deposit or mailed check but don’t expect much back since we all know who gets the real cash from these settlements – there’s even a link to object to attorney fees 🙂 Here’s the wording from the site with models listed:
If you are or were a U.S. owner of an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, and/or SE device that ran iOS 10.2.1 or later before December 21, 2017, and/or a U.S. owner of an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus device that ran iOS 11.2 or later before December 21, 2017, you could be entitled to benefits under a class action settlement.
more poor folks dining

Different types of canned beans (freebies), rice cooked with cans of diced/seasoned tomatoes (freebies), seasoned tilapia (marked down 30%) and my beloved coleslaw as a taco topping. Fish is so lightweight that when a package starts at $2, how can you pass it up? Think the most expensive part of this meal is the tortillas 🙂
Poor people dining
Always hard to break down dinner costs, but here goes: 25¢ for the stick of unsalted butter, $1.98 for two lobster tails, 88¢ for a bag of shredded cabbage blend (homemade mayo), all from Jewel deals. The most expensive part was the farmers market green beans ’cause they’re nutsy high, but PITA loves their stuff.

Groceries by drone – this again?
It was back in 2013 when Amazon said you’d soon be able to get just about anything in 30 minutes or less via a fleet of drones flying through the air. The rest of the retail industry quickly took notice, and many got to work planning drone deliveries of their own.
Well, it’s 2020 – so where are all those drones? Here’s a Louisiana, Alabama & Mississippi grocery chain looking at drone delivery. What are the odds those drones will be used for target practice? Betting windows are now open … Coupons in the News article here.
