Back from the wars…

Just got back from a day well-spent at the Elgin Walgreens on Summit.  Many, many thanks for all the kindness extended by Pierre (mgr), Stephanie (ExA) and Matt (who got stuck completing the deals arranged on the fly when one product after another ran out!  And a special thanks for reader Keasha who turned us on to this store and made a point of stopping in to say hi.

I tried taking a picture, but the garage was just too dark – you’ll have to take my work for it.  I left the Summit store with about 100 of the Nasal Ease remaining in back and on the shelves, so if you are in need, check them out.  Once they ran out of the Similasan, I switched to the following two transactions (This might help if you run out of Similasan and need to switch gears in a hurry).

1.  One Nasal Ease and one Colgate Sensitive.  Use coupons and pay $6 plus tax.

2. Four Purex Ultra and a Pepsi Next.  Use the $9 RR from No. 1.

3.  One Nasal Ease, one Colgate Sensitive and one filler – I used the Hunts tomato sauce (switched to Nice later).  Pay with two coupons and the 99¢ RR from Pepsi.  Repeat transactions two and three.

When I was running the original set of transactions with the Similasan, I went through lots of Quaker Oats filler, black olive and tomato sauce fillers, tuna fish and two cans of tomato sauce fillers…just remember that you’re looking for the $1.50 mark to offset the $1.50 coupon.

  1. I just called this store (10:15pm) and they said they had 6 or 8 of the Nasal Ease left now? If anyone knows of a location with quantities still available please let me know. I’d love to use up the rest of my coupons! I know I’m probably SOL though. Thanks!

    • Call this morning, please because the people who were working probably didn’t know where it all was. They had about 40 or 50 on the shelf alone when I left and more in the back. I find it hard to believe they would sell out 100+ boxes in the couple of hours after I left.

  2. Thought you might appreciate this. My mom lives about 3 hours west of here and she has a Walgreens that clips the coupons and has them stapled in front of items. It looked like they were in all of the aisles. The down side is that her newspapers get crappy coupons so this isn’t as great as it could be.

  3. No problem. Thanks for the Shout out. I truely bow down to you. I can’t imagine doing this type of large quantity’s on a regular basis. Im going to do the next two weeks to roll my rewards on the other free item. Then im going to cash out @ jewels and meijer.
