The year of Amy Schumer continues with a near-perfect sketch from the Season 3 premiere of “Inside Amy Schumer.” Yes, there was a tribute to butts and a rape sketch, but a sketch saying “screw you” to the Hollywood patriarchy featured cameos from legends Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tina Fey and Patricia Arquette, and it was an absolute winner.
Schumer stumbles upon the trio having an idyllic picnic in the woods, only to discover they’re celebrating Louis-Dreyfus’ “Last Fuckable Day.” She explains: “In every actress’ life, the media decides when you finally reach the point when you’re not believably fuckable anymore.” Common signs are when the poster for your movie is just a photo of the kitchen, wardrobe only has long sweaters for you and when your movies are remade with younger actresses (Selena Gomez in “Boyhood”!).
They celebrate well, though, by chugging ice cream, smoking cigars and delivering an expert critique on the way Hollywood treats actresses as they age. Bravo, Schumer.
