Florida Woman Sues Chase Bank for Declaring Her Dead, Ruining Her Credit

Chase Bank is being sued by a Florida woman who says the bank declared her dead and ruined her credit as a result. After she and her husband attempted to have their mortgage loan modified, she said things took an ugly turn, leaving her no choice but to sue the bank.

Wrenella Pierre of Oviedo, Fla. is suing Chase Bank under the claim that the bank declared her as deceased and, as a result, has ruined her credit. It began when the home of Pierre and her husband declined in value, leaving them to push for a loan modification, which they attempted five or six times unsuccessfully.

Then, for no apparent reason, the bank began notifying credit agencies that she had died. It even sent her family a condolence letter saying, “We are sorry to hear about your loss.”

She contacted the bank to let them know a terrible mistake had occurred and that she had not died. But even a month after setting the record straight, she said the credit agencies were still reporting her as deceased. Her next action was to take the bank to court.

Because of the losses she’s suffered as a result of Chase Bank’s huge error, Pierre is suing for damages. Her attorney told the media, “I don’t know why the bank made this type of disastrous mistake.” He went on to explain that Pierre has been unable to have credit extended because of her deceased status.

A spokeswoman for JPMorgan Chase told the Orlando Sentinel that the bank would not discuss the details of the case with the media. She simply told the newspaper, “We’re investigating how it happened.”

do you really think this is an accident?  that someone at Chase didn’t say “I’ll fix her little red wagon” ?  and this is why i refer to them as “the whores of Chase”
