Aldi is crammed with special holiday offerings, so I’ll have to see what remains in the new year (although the manager told me that the weekly ads that show up in the paper actually list specials – who knew!?). Picked up an Irish cheddar for $3.59 (think Kerry Gold), $3.77 for a 30 oz jar of Hellmann’s, 89¢ large celery bunch, more cheeses and my favorite, a Fun Pint of Ice Cream (as receipt reads). Three fun pint flavors share the shelf and look and sound strangely familiar: Brookie Dough, Make Fudge, Not War and Thank You Cherry Much (thought it might be Larry Garcia or something). First thing we tried in the door and omg, this is my beloved Cherry Garcia playing to the cheap seats at $1.99 (I have a $3.69 B&J “personal price” at Jewel this week). Tried lots of ice creams with cutesy names and packaging, but none has ever come close in taste. Back off, Unilever, I have a new best friend. And I earned 25 Fetch Rewards points, too :). If you do sign up for that rebate program, know that you can still earn Ibotta rewards with that same receipt — Fetch don’t care! Use promo code WVAB6 before your first Fetch scan and earn a 2,000 point bonus (that’s $2).
