Finally decided to roll the $9.50 Culturelle RRs into the Aquaphor lip balms and the Wet Kiwi Strawberry lubricant, using Nutcracker Snickers as filler. Only five of the lip balms still around, so it was game plan change time. Don’t you hate it when you get all set and think you’re going to be in and out and have everything ready to go? And then you can’t…
This is the real trouble with not knowing how/why the various deal scenarios work: If you go in to Jewel for a catalina promotion requiring the purchase of eight boxes of brownie mix and there are only 7 on the shelf – – what do you do? If the only thing you know is “8 brownie mixes” you’re SOL.
In this case, I was able to run five transactions with 1 Aquaphor, 1 Wet and 2 Snickers. Paid with a $1 Aquaphor coupon, a $1 Wet coupon, one $9.50 RR and the in-ad Snickers coupon. OOP was $1.11 and got back $8 in RRs.
Three transactions included 1 Wet, 1 Revlon and 4 Snickers. Paid with a $1 Wet coupon, the $1 in-store Revlon coupon, in-ad Snickers coupon and the $9.50 RR. OOP was 88¢ and got back $9 in RRs.
Final two transactions included 1 Wet and 1 package of puppy training pads (aka pee pads). Used the $1 Wet coupon and the $9.50 RR. OOP was $3.74 and got back a $6 RR.
My actual OOP in total was $15.67. I used up $95 in RRs and got back $79 and a whole bunch of Snickers! And since I needed pee pads, that $15 would have been spent anyway.
that strawberry–kiwi stuff is a dessert topping, right?
