11 Dominicks to become Marianos

Here’s the list of Dominicks stores that will be purchased by Roudy’s (parent company of Mariano’s) sometime within the next few weeks; they will reopen as Mariano’s after a month or two of renovations.

The locations being purchased are:

•    Park Ridge: 1900 S. Cumberland Ave.
•    Western Springs: No. 14 Garden Market Street
•    Chicago: 3145 S. Ashland Ave.
•    Chicago: 2021 W. Chicago Ave.
•    Northfield: 1822 Willow Rd.
•    Westchester: 3020 S. Wolf Rd.
•    Buffalo Grove: 450 Half Day Rd.
•    Chicago: 5201 N. Sheridan Rd.
•    Gurnee: 6655 Grand Ave.
•    Aurora: 3025 E. New York St.
•    Shorewood: 950 Brook Forest Ave.

The Aurora location is actually not too far from me – naturally it’s my least-favorite Dominicks.  Well, no, it’s tied with Danada Square because Danada is coupon Naziland, but the Aurora store always looks at you like your coupons are something entirely new to them...just shoot me now

  1. My favorite part of the tribune article is where they say there will be no transfer of employees. Everyone will have to reapply and none of the existing employees get precedence. I would feel bad about them all losing their jobs but the Gurnee location, which is nearest to me, has the WORST employees. I hear Mariano’s has terrible and strict management but they always double my coupons without a problem. Yay for me.
