Wallyworld

Cleared the shelf of all the Nivea…only 17, though, so I can’t claim bragging rights…threw in the tank-size tank top ’cause I had that $5 coupon from All You and that’s the price on the tag!  Ended up at $4.06 OOP, all high tax.  The supervisor who came over due to the number of coupons kept reading them over and over.  I gave her 90 seconds before I cold-cocked her.  At  89 seconds she approved and sincerely wished me a nice day.  At least they didn’t ask if I wanted a Wally card...insert shudder here… See, the trick to shopping at Walmart is to get in and get out before they can take your picture.

  1. I went there today too! Is is a full moon??? I was hoping no one captured me in photos either… it’s like a dare! I also did the ole “price match” they keep talking about. Rather handy. Since it’s extremely close to the house and I wear dark sunglasses AND gas prices are ridiculous, shall I admit I might return??? That price matching saved me a shitload of money JUST not having to drive! (Not a fan still though… not a fan…)

  2. ah…Walmart. Love the cinnamon rolls at the suburban ones…nom nom nom. Picked up the rest of my monster clean and clear body wash from my new favorite Wags that has successfully converted to the dark side in Chicago. Asked management about special orders and it’s on! Wee!

  3. Holding out indeed. Well this walgreens is somewhat flighty, the manager said she orders 6 to 8 weeks in advance for sales. Is that normal? I asked about Right Guard and she is going to call me. Lets see if that happens. I called customer service on Sunday after I was rejected in my shelf cleaning by some sasquatch. Oh and I picked up 42 total clean and clear between her store and another one. It’s only monsttous to me because I have no storage!

    • I find it hard to believe that she can get that info 6 to 8 weeks in advance – I mean, Steve would kill for that long a lead time. He doesn’t even get the advance sheets (the black and whites) four weeks out. Tell that mgr to put her money where her mouth is, in other words, show us the sheets!

I picked up about 30 of the Right Guard last sale, so we’ll see what happens…and how fast PITA pours the stuff down the drain. I do like the Clean & Clear Pomegranate one though.

      • Yeah, I sensed bullshit. I have no idea how the world of walgreens works. How did you get the POMEGRANATE ONE!!?

        • It was one of the three on the Wheaton endcap – I took the picture of all the stock there. The only weird thing was that the sign on the other two said BOGO and the p. one said 2/$5.99. Either way, it worked for me. That’s why a good Wags is so valuable to have. I can say that because Steve doesn’t read the comments, so make all your whore comments here in the comments section! (I don’t mean you, mariposa) woot!

  4. I got pomegranate in Oak Park. But we don’t use body wash, so I was going to donate it. But if it’s THAT good, maybe I’ll try one bottle.

  5. need to convert some of the wags up here in the boondocks..they are no fun to shop at. You’re lucky if you get 8 of anything up here…plus I never have that many q’s…I envy you peeps.

    • Well, you’d have that many coupons if you’d ordered the Trib through those guys I posted about. Be creative – check out your library and see if they dump the inserts or keep them. Ask your neighbors, family, friends, homeless people who seem to be covered with newsprint. If J’ailme can do it, you can too!

    • if there’s a Starbucks nearby have dh volunteer to ‘tidy’ up their sunday papers and bring you the inserts
Menards has the Sun paper on Sat for $1
you sure you can’t get home delivery? then gift some subscriptions to each family member in Lisle etc, ’cause i was able to order 3 more and they are sending $30 in Jewel gift cards…
and i get coupons from cousin dede in texas or my new bff in fl…just sayin

      • Great idea about the Starbucks and other cafes where people sit outside and read the Sunday papers. I’ve seen lots of papers dumped in the bin at the train stations (granted, there aren’t as many people riding the train on the weekend, but…), but be creative. I forgot about your home delivery problem. But giving subscriptions to family and friends is a great idea, because then every couple of weeks you drop by and pick them up.

  6. I have to say that i was kind of disapointed with one of the 3 wags i called my order ahead and was told ok on my quantity only to have a call back one day before the sale to let me know that they werent able to fill my order because they needed them to stock the sheft….no hard feelings but i wont be placing orders with that wags any longer. Im just letting you know i was polite and nice and i smile dont want to have a bad reputation…

    • Hey! No reason why you should place more orders. You were treated shamefully…let us know which Wags it was so we can handle it. If a store doesn’t get with the program – they’re out! Right now I’m having some serious reservations about the ability of the Montgomery store to provide the level of product we need. While the manager might like the sales and the BA is way on top of this, the rest of the staff seem to be untrained monkeys.
