Wal Mart’s new coupon policy

By now I’m sure you’ve all heard about the roar coming out of Wal Mart:  They’ve decided coupons mean business!  Here is the entire policy, which you can print out and take with you.  At the very least, they take catalinas (OYNO), and most RRs (for products they sell), and they now officially give overage!

  1. This is great news …… now I just have to find a Walmart Supermarket that’s close by 🙂 I dropped the ball on getting back to Wags in time to roll my Mortin RRs into Colgate/Baby Magic, so I have a lot of RRs to spend.

      • Yes, a terrible pain to find anything at Wags on Saturday and unfortunately I got pre-occupied with other errands so I still have Mortin RRs. Did some grocery shopping at Jewel using RRs and I WAS able to use 1 NasoGel RR at Wags…..limited to 1 per transaction. I think the issue was more the cashier being picky than anything else, but I hope that things get better with time.

  2. Wow – This is good. Still better to keep rolling the RR’s at Walgreen, but nice to be able to use RR’s for stuff not sold at Walgreen stores!

  3. Is there anywhere where it actually says they will accept RR’s, I mean does the catalina one cover this? I was just at my Walmart last week and got really pissed b/c they wouldn’t give me an overage of like $1.50 each coupon for around $6.00 total. Then they wouldn’t take a catalina that was a manufacturer coupon that had Jewel on it. I just need some major ammunition for when I do go back there.

    • This is currently a ymmv situation, since corporate put out a great pdf coupon policy, but apparently forgot to send it to the stores. Cashiers and store mgrs are clueless about it and some cashiers are saying that a RR is not accepted because it is not a price off an item (wrong).

As I always say when something like this goes down, print out and bring the new coupon policy with you. At least all stores should follow the same corporate policy, unlike Dominicks.

    • Did you say ammunition? File a BBB complaint against Walmart corporate with the coupon policy and your receipts as documented proof. They will enforce compliance at the store level. I did that regarding a non-compliant return policy issue. It was worth my time.
