The C.S. Lewis Fantasy The Great Divorce imagines a bus ride from from hell to heaven, presented at the McAninch Arts Center by way of Fellowship for Performing Arts, the company behind the acclaimed hit The Screwtape Letters. Brimming with the famed signature wit and imagination expected from the author of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Great Divorce follows several colorful characters on a bus ride from a suburb in hell to the outskirts of heaven, while exploring the vagaries of human nature and the divide between good and evil. Adapted by Max McLean and Brian Watkins with the blessing of the Lewis estate, this production, part of a national tour, was recommended by The Washington Post.
