Target for tax (or less)

The 9/28 red plum has $5/2 TRESemme coupons and a $5 Target coupon on listed items, among them TRESemme products! AND through the end of today, you get a $5 gift card when you purchase 3 TRESemme products (as noted on the shelf, not all products). You can either run this in sets of four with the $3.99 shampoos, conditioners and styling products ($15.96 less $5 Target coupon less $10 inset coupon; pay 96¢ and get back 2 $5 gift cards) or, if your cashier gives you the stink eye when you try to run multiple transactions, you can buy 9 products and use 4 TRESemme $5/2 coupons and the $10/$35 Target coupon expiring today.  You’ll pay $35.91 less $10 Target coupon, less $20 insert coupons or $5.91 but get back $15 in gift cards.  Either way you save!

I ran this with both the $10 Target coupon and the new $5 coupon, just for grins.

  1. LOL, I just did this same deal!!!
I found that the extra hold hairspray worked, but not the lighter one that is one level below it.
Also, the mousse with a green lid works (the one for curly hair–flawless curls.)
Did you find anything else that works in the $3.99 price range?

  2. The Plainfield Target signs were down and were not showing the $5 gift card but the manager was very sweet and gave me them. Thanks so much for posting this deal!

  3. I found out today that store managers have tremendous latitude when it comes to choosing what products will be the selected products for gift card deals, which is why one store includes $3.99 hair spray, while another only includes the $5.99 and $11.99 products. Boy, you learn something new every day…

    • that makes sense then, as I read on SD that someone’s store included some of the $3.99 Shampoos, but mine did not.
Weird how that works, you would think it would be universal at each store.

  4. Heather, It worked at the Joliet store without any intervention.
I’m surprised the Plainfield store was so nice to you, I’ve found that they can sometimes be difficult with coupons, etc.

  5. Pam, overall I have found Plainfield to be fairly coupon friendly. Like any other store, it depends on who is working and if they appreciate all the hard work that goes into getting these deals!

  6. I have also recently had a difficult time with coupons at the Plainfield Target, the cashiers are nice enough but seem to be almost scared of coupons, so are constantly questioning a coupon or calling the service desk with questions. When my cashier called for customer service the ” manager” Danny was extremely rude and said that the coupons that I printed from Coupons.com for the Tresemm’e looked like I had copied them from a
magazine !!! He would not let me use them even for the exact product listed on the coupon !!!!
