Target -0-

They say a dollar doesn’t go very far now days – well, hell, it only needs to drive to Target! Picked up two more Air Wick candles, 3 sleepwear clearance items ($10/3 Target q), 13 Secret deodorants, 13 double-bar boxes of Olay bar soap, 8 Purina Whisker Lickins cat treats ($2/2 11/14 R1), and The Sims 3 for wii (price matched to Kmart ad). Original subtotal was about $130, but got down to $108 after the wii price match. Then the coupons came a’rolling along. The very nice cashier asked if I had any coupons. “Am I breathing?” She also remembered me from a previous visit (probably a month or two ago – scary). She was honestly thrilled to see my coupons and asked where I got them. I never have a problem with educating people about the value of the newspaper inserts and in this case I was able to tell her what week the various coupons came from.  it’s a talent i have...

After coupons? $15.88, which I paid using more of my $5 gift cards. I wish they could combine these, because it’s ridiculous to carry around a stack of them.

  1. I’d rather use them to get more free stuff, thank you very much. I might end up spending $50 this Christmas!!! spending like a drunken sailor, i am… (hey! when did I start talking like Yoda?)

  2. Didn’t happen to be the Target in North Aurora did it? There is a cashier there that is the greatest Target employee ever! Always remembers me, always gets excited about my coupons and is always making sure they get entered correctly! She should be the one training the rest of the Target employees on coupon usage!

  3. Wish I would have read your tip about saving the Target coupons. I turned in my last Whisker Lickins and then realized that I had more newspaper coupons. That won’t happen again! Thanks for the tips!
