Sister Hazel, one of the mainstay acts of alt rock, rolls into the Windy City, ready to show everyone — fans and newcomers alike — how it’s done down south. Since 1993, the band has released a string of albums that have managed to please both critics and “Hazelnuts,” the name adopted by their fiercely devoted fan base. In fact, 2009’s Release charted higher than the platinum-selling Somewhere More Familiar, which featured, “All for You,” one of the catchiest singles of the ’90s. Sister Hazel’s legacy continues with their latest effort, Heartland Highway, an album designed to be played straight from beginning to end. Now the pride of Gainesville, Florida heads north to play their signature pop hooks and country rock harmonies at the House of Blues.
