But when he makes the move from a cot in his ex-wife’s garage to his own apartment, new possibilities for love and sex arise — complicated, painful and hilarious though they may be. A bold, incendiary riff on Waiting for Godot, Pass Over focuses on two young, black men who stand around on the corner, talk smack, passing the time and hoping that maybe today will be different. Then a stranger wanders into their space with his own agenda and derails their plans. The play is a rare piece of politically charged theater by a bold new American voice, exposing the unquestionable human spirit of young men stuck in a cycle just looking for a way out.
