Restaurant.com just started a new round of cheapie deals: $25 certificates for $2. These are my kind of prices! I’ve used these certificates quite a bit, since $2 for a $25 meal is a bargain. Pick out whichever restaurants you like, proceed to checkout and then enter the promo code “TOUCHDOWN” to drop the price. If you don’t have favorite restaurants or aren’t sure yet, put it in as a gift certificate; when you decide you can select the one you want. If you do have a favorite, lock it in now, as quantities are usually limited.
I’ve had restaurants fold or leave the program before I could use the certificates (which don’t expire), but Restaurant.com emailed me immediately that my certificates would be switched to any other restaurant without charge. If you decide to switch restaurants, just call customer service and they’ll make the switch, again with no charge (usually takes a couple of hours to show up), and you’re good to go.
Yes, I can heartily recommend this program and they’re not even paying me! These also make for some mighty nice gifts for the holidays, people.
Lisa just told me that if you click on the tab for the 12 month Dinner of the Month, you get an email each month with the ability to choose a restaurant. You also get a $50 bonus certificate. So just where is the downside? I’ve put my order in.
One caveat…..If you have a favorite restaurant or are planning a special celebration at a specific restaurant, order the certificate now ’cause if they sell out of your restaurant, you’ll be SOL.
