PSA: non-Egyptian cotton Target refunds

Targetgc“One of Target’s vendors, Welspun Global Brands (Welspun), was one of the producers of Egyptian Cotton 500-thread count sheets under the Fieldcrest label for Target,” said Molly Snyder, a Target company spokeswoman. “After an extensive investigation, we recently confirmed that Welspun substituted another type of non-Egyptian cotton when producing these sheets between August 2014 and July 2016. Neither Target nor Fieldcrest had any knowledge of this substitution. These sheets were produced by a number of vendors and only one of those vendors was substituting product.”  Anyone who purchased these products produced between August 2014 and July 2016 can request a full refund in the form of a gift card (select Egyptian Cotton Sheets in drop down box).  You do not need a receipt because it also verifies by the VN number on the sheets.

Walmart Is now investigating to see if its Welspun Egyptian Cotton Sheets were fake.  Welspun also sells to Bed, Bath and Beyond, Costco and Macy’s.

Note:  Egyptian Cotton only refers to the stupid seed, not to where the cotton is grown, so you could have the right cotton grown in your backyard.  well, not really, but you know what i mean…
